Cell Phone Mounting

How do you mount your cell phone in your Camaro? If you have a GPS app on your smartphone, you would want it to be visible.

Here is an interesting solution, but I don't know if it would work in our cars:

Has anyone tried this? Maybe a friction-type mount?

Opinions requested.

I have the Proclip mount on my center consol. The GPS signal is just fine. It is a little pricey but it hold my iphone at a great angle and easily readable.

Check out http://www.proclipusa.com.
Lots of phones to choose from. Got one for my Evo and works perfect.

Did it deform the plastic at all when you slid the mount into the space between the top and side of the console? When you remove it, is there any evidence it was there?

Never deformed the console. I had it in my coupe and removed it to put in my vert. You never could tell it was there ! I have the mount with the sync connector attached. Everytime I get in the car I get power and links into the radio by the USB. The cord is hid in the console so it is very discrete.

I use a vent clip style that I bought as Best Buy. Clips into the A/C vent and doesn't block too much of the airflow.

RAM makes good quality mounting solutions. I have used one for GPS mounting on my boat and in work vehicles.

Wink

I will try using my Bluetooth GPS Car Dock for iPhone4 with External Speaker from Arkon...
Link and some pics:
http://arkon.com/iphone/iphone-bluet...-dock-gps.html

Here it is when I had it in my 68 VW..
Works great..and you can mount it anywhere in the car not just the windshield...on the dash...console etc...
AND... it charges the phone!
They also carry mounts for other phone brands not just apple...
