Question about Vitesse Throttle Controller

Hey gang before I get blasted I did read like 100 pages about the VTC researching it and if I did miss it I am sorry to ask!

I just bought my 2d Camaro, traded my 2011 1LT for a 2014 2SS/RS and I am 99.9% sure I want to install a VTC but I have not seen anyone mention what it does to your gas mileage. I know, I know before you say it-----Why did you get a 2SS/RS if your going to complain about gas mileage? It is not that I (in my best Ricky Bobby voice "I wanna go fast!) but not at 10 MPG like my 1980 El Camino with its 383 Stroker.

This will be my 1st mod but then I will go with the CAI and on and on. So any input on the gas mileage???? Thanks Don

When I had mine I left it on SP5 and noticed my MPG drop about 1 MPG.

I have one in my cts and so far went from 17mpg city to 16.9city and that with more spireted driving so i would say not really noticable because of unit but more that your likely to get on it more, or at least in the beginning.

From what I've read, if you try putting it in Eco mode which is advertised to give better MPG you may get a CEL. I'm not completely sure on that subject, but I really don't want to test it and see what happens.

I do about 17.1 mpg on the throttle controller setting it on #7 at all times. The only way you will get better and noticeable mileage increase is by setting it on #0 (The only eco mode). This is what the developer specifically told me when I met him in person. However, I felt as though it drove like any other car at that point. I quickly went back to setting #7 :-)

Thanks for the replies and info everyone. Sounds like not much difference except on a setting of 0 but if on 0 why get one?

Hey Roxy what kind of wheels are those? And if you don't mind me asking how much? If you want you can PM me the price I really like them I can not find anything I can agree with that I thing would look good on my RRM it either too much chrome or too much black. Thanks Don

I get 20-21mpg in city with my VTC. Nothing has changed with or without it. I still use the same fuel and drive it the same. Also mine is a V6. Highway has remained the same as well.

I run it on SP9 all the time.

The settings are 0-7 in economy mode and 0-9 in sport mode.

No noticeable loss in fuel economy here. Remember it speeds up throttle response, you actually press the pedal lighter than without it. Some people that don't have one think that you could just SMASH the gas and get the same results. BUT when you SMASH the pedal with one, even on 4 or 5, the response is AMAZING! Get One!

You must have missed the 20 or so pages on this.

It won't do anything to you mpgs if you have it on a SP0 setting. It has Economy setting on it as well, but I haven't messed with them. If you set it up to have fun and enjoy the new-found responsiveness... your mpgs will go down in direct proportion to your right foot going down.

I used eco mode. haven't used it above eco3. I went from 15.4 to 18.4 mpg within a few days but the car feels VERY sluggish...you have to put some force on the pedal when leaving from a stop. In sport mode my mpg drops maybe 1 to 1.5 mpg because im usually getting on it.
