No shade to the v6 owner's, but let's keep it real!!

Time and time again, you always here people define the reasons on buying a v6. For the gas mileage, cheaper insurance, etc! That's a bunch of bull! I've owned a 14 lfx and now I own an 14 ss and my insurance only went up a few dollars. Mpg is great for this 6.2 monster. I've gotten 30 mpg on cruise control@68 mph and 28 mpg @ 75 and under mph. I had fun in my v6, but nothing compares to a v8. I'm a Camaro guy, so I love all Camaros, but having buyer's remorse is no joke and I had that. Very happy with my ls3, so please stop using those excuses and keep it real with yourselfs. Again, no shade to the v6 guys, just stating some facts! Anybody out there feel what I'm saying? Chime in and let me know. Thank you..

oh jeeze here we go again lol another V8 vs V6 thread. I didn't buy mine for any of those reasons. I bought my V6 as a Grad School graduation gift to myself because it was cheap, a manual, and a sweet color.

Hi,

I drive mostly 90% freeway and I get a little over 18mpg. 28 to 30 mpg sounds unreal to me.

My insurance is cheap but I am 44 with no accidents or tickets on my ins. I assume if you are a 20yr kid that the insurance for a ss is more than a v6, but I don't know.

I personally like anyone who buys the car they want and can afford V6 owners included as well as 4cyl owners included.

Glad you enjoy your SS but no reason to put down the V6 guys or their proposed reason for getting one. They are our Camaro brothers too. And if anybody gets the 4cyl one that is up to them. The specs for that one aren't bad.

Hahaha... that's an illusion.

Unless mine is the exception, ls3's get crap for mileage. And that's based upon 7 years of hand calculating each tankful.

I respect you for that and think it looks sweet too. A big V6 manual is still a very fun ride.

This forum would be so much more enjoyable without all the trolls.

No......as usual the mods dictate until it gets personal or insulting leave it be. Lets not turn into a bunch of sweethearts like everything else in the world. We argue.......make peace then argue again haha.

Think the best I have ever gotten out of mine was 24 mpg and that was on a long flat highway with very few hills.

As for me since I hadn't owned a car in a long time, just Jeeps and Trucks, I figured that if I was getting a "sports car" I wanted all the bell and whistles. At this point in my life I can pretty much afford anything I want within reason, so I do what I feel is right. Maybe not a Ferrari.......LOL
