AFM disabling

GM is recalling silverados for overheating. Seems the on board computer is not shutting down the cylinders as designed thus causing the overheating and potential fire possibilities. Just curious if purchasing and installing a RANGE AFM disabling device, might possibly cause the same result. Has anyone currently running a RANGE, experience similar overheating?

your not going to get overheating from turning the system off. It will just run on all 8 like it should.

Been running almost exclusively with the Range active for around 7,000 miles now with no trouble whatsoever.

The effected Silverados (4.3l V6 and 5.3l V8, 6.2l V8 not included) have engine software errors that could cause exhaust components to overheat when idling leading to fire. There is no reason to connect it to the Camaro or the Range AFM delete module.
