Line Lock Loc Launch Control Kit?
Has any one istalled Line Lock Loc Launch Control Kit to help with burn outs?
Just curious? or is it a waist of time and $$? Here is the one I was looking at. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I have an SLP line lock on my car and it works great. Makes heating up the tires a lot easier and not so hard on the brakes.

I havnt put one on this car yet but they definately make burnouts alot easier on an M6 car, plus its easier on the brakes when you do.
If you go to the drag strip its an excellent mod. Brad |

A line lock is not a waste of money. It will help clean the tires off in a controlled manner as well as heat the tires off.
The line lock will help reduce drivetrain and brake wear as well. Here's another one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SJM-V...item35b2101bc8 This one has a two stage electrical circuit for controlling the line lock solenoid and is less expensive. Consider the sponsors on the board though. Speed Inc, Texas Speed, Nickey Chicago..many others have them. |

Thanks for the info and replies,
It's all new to me. Was looking at SLP, cause of name reconition and looks stock. SJM, however looks interesting. Just want to be able to do 1 burn out before a cam install. Still saving for this. Just want to get my burn out fix for the time being.

The SJM was the first on the market...from 1993 and on Camaro vehicles, they were the first. SLP appears to have copied some of the line configurations (i.e. our front mount LS1 Camaro setup...and mustang setup).
SJM parts have the most advanced electrical configuration using a remote mount LED and a two stage electrical setup. All lines and fittings come assembled, no Teflon tape is needed...the kits are so complete they even come with a new grommet if you do not want to reuse an old one on your firewall. All parts are high quality even down to the wire which is a special fire retardant shielded wire (J1128 specs). Regarding location, we chose the location on the passenger side as mounting near the brake booster can have interference issues with some supercharger/turbo configurations...at least with the car that we designed the kit around...it would not have worked well over there well and was too cluttered not to mention was too close to heat sources which is not what you want when it comes to using a line lock solenoid (which can generate quite a bit of heat). Good luck with your choices. |

Installed the SJM line lock today. I did a small test then, I heard and saw enough. Now I need to post a video clip and post it.
