There are a couple other threads on here about the same topic but anyhoo.... I've hit 142mph and pretty easy, just ran out of road (and nerves but lets keep that a secret...).

Venom- can you PM me where you found your safe road in Ohio to give your car's ponies a chance to gallop?! I've only got a couple hundred miles of break-in to go (and I'll be taking care of that with a road trip this weekend) so I'm interested in letting mine run a tad somewhere :-)

P.S. Nope, I'm not a law enforcement officer - except when all three of my sons (23, 20, & 14) are in the house together and wreaking havoc and inciting chaos and bedlam!

Got our 2LT RS to 120 on open interstate and it was still easily climbing and I backed off. Not long after that I was reading a thread about a guy in a Camaro hitting a Honda going over 100mph and splitting it into...killing the guy in the Honda(very sad). Needless to say, I have not driven that fast since then and probably will not again unless I find a track.
On a side note...having both the 2LT RS V6 and the 2SS RS V8, to me the V6 handles better when approaching and exceeding the 85+ mph area... Just seems nimble and hugs the ground better. These things are cop magnets anyway. This past week I was going 50 in a 40 in my 2SS and flowing with traffic (cars in front and around me) and I get pulled over. I was able to talk my way out of the ticket but I guess that is what ya get for having the hottest car on the road. Now I have to creep along at 40 in my area or in the area I was pulled over! Feel like I am going backwards going that slow I could have gone 45 to 50 in that area all day long in my Yukon I had before the Camaro lol

Guys I know our Camaro's are like a speed drug, but don't drive like an a** on public roads! You will eventually kill someone.

Where in Indiana are you from, Black Sunshine? Which stretch of 65? I've noticed a distinct lack of surveillance north of Lafayette in my numerous trips up to the Region...

Venom- no, I've been working too much to get out there and play.
I did get on it a little bit on a back country road in Indiana a few weeks back, though. When I got to 95 (so easy!!), however, I glanced over to the passenger seat and saw my 14 year old son's eyes get so wide I thought they'd pop out of his head - so I backed off... |
