I got into the wrong car.
Figured you guys would enjoy this. It was a few months ago, but my dad and I were at the mall in Paducah, KY and we got into the wrong Camaro . When we went outside to leave it was raining, and this rain was COLD. So I was walking backwards to avoid my face freezing off and caught a glimpse of an IBM SS with gray stripes and subconsciously went to it thinking it was mine since I hardly ever see any IBM ones much less with the stripe. While walking I thought to myself wasn't I parked facing the opposite way?
Nevertheless I kept walking backwards and hit the unlock button, and when we got up to it opened the door and sat down. This car was DIRTY and I just had mine detailed but I ignored it, but there was a Mt. Dew bottle in the cup holder so I thought it was my dads and I just hadn't noticed him with it so I throw it in the backseat. Then I see a gamestop powerup keychain thing in the cup holder, but still thinking whatever (even though mine was on my keychain). So I sit my coffee in and dad sits his in and I look forward and notice its a manual where mine is an automatic . That's when I say uhh this isn't my car. So we get our coffee and get out realizing my car is in the next lane over so we beat a hasty retreat, get in my car and start cracking up. So then we're both like was that unlocked or did I unlock it...surely someone wouldn't leave their relatively new Camaro SS unlocked right? But I drive off without trying to see if I could lock it or whatever. Well that's my once in a lifetime story about somehow getting lucky? enough to have a car that looked exactly like mine parked relatively close to where I parked yet far enough to not see my car, have it (in all likelihood already unlocked), get in and comfortable and not notice until I saw the shifter. |

Im assuming they forgot to lock it, but still a funny store non the less. Would of been interesting if you ran into the person who owned that or if they saw you get in and started to freak out thinking their car was getting stolen or something.

Yeah that's kind of why I left in a hurry. Didn't want to run into someone that thought I was trying to steal it lol

I don't live far from Paducah, hope you enjoyed your time in the area. We had something similar happen to us a few years ago on vacation. While in Disney World, when we locked our van in the parking lot of the hotel another van in the same lot beeped at the same time as ours. It also turned out that it used the same wireless code as ours.

We had a Vikings Player took his daughter to the hospita. She was fine just had a the flu. Well he leaves and drive's off. Half way home he hears and see's 4 -5 cop cars heading his way. They stop him Guns pointed at him AND do the GET OUT OF THE CAR. He's arrested and taken to the Local PD for Auto theft. His daughter placed with CPC. Anyways his keys opened and started the same color and kind of Chevy Impala. Don't hear of that to often>

The owner must have thought: "How the f*ck did my Mountain Dew end up in the back seat???"

Wow that was hilarious. I did that once too when I was younger, but there was a bit of alcohol involved as I recall. Tried to start the car and when the key wouldn't turn I actually thought that my friends had the ignition rekeyed while we were in the bar. As I said there was alcohol involved.
