Apology and rant / having to modify driving style - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

OK, apology first. To those of you who always posted about people wanting to race you, I thought you were just trying to sound cool or whatever. I'm sorry I doubted you.

Now my rant about having to modify my driving style because of this car. I have a lead foot and like to go fast. I'm a fairly aggressive driver, but I think I keep it less than reckless. My old car was a Monte Carlo SS, nobody raced me or even gave me much of a second thought except to comment on the graphics. And I just zoomed along at will without being bothered.

This car is a whole different story. I try to pass some moron going 50 in the middle lane, I move left and goose it, only to find them keeping up with me now. This NEVER happened in my old car. Now it happens every couple days. WTF, I'm a 46 year old suburban grandmother. I'm not racing you, I have no intention of racing you, I don't care if you can go faster than me. I just want to get around you. I've found myself driving like a little old lady wondering if I dare pass or if that will start something. I'm about ready to post a sign in the window that says. "I'm not racing you, I'm just sick of being behind you." Or maybe a license plate that says JUST MOVE!

Again sorry to those I've doubted. I am now a believer. This car brings out the crazies.

I guess you didn't know...lol.

Monte Carlo SS's do not bring out testosterone they are in fact, slow. Very slow compared to an SS Camaro.

What say you? "My Car is only a V6" It doesn't matter, it's a Camaro perceived to be fast. Another misnomer about the Camaro, it appears to be expensive. You know, like the guy in the $35,000 truck that says you must have a lot of money owning that car.

Legit! Sometimes I just chill in the right lane in a 2 lane high way and people always tailgate my ass and go flying past me. I'm just like chill out. Or I'l be on a 2 lane road and people will tailgate me like expecting me to go 40 over the speed limit. It's ridiculous.

I get it all the time. Its almost always men. I dont know if they are more offended that a girl is passing them or the car. I dont try to race but I will zoom by you if you're driving slow. I say the guys that do this have a condition called TDS <---Tiny D*ck Syndrome

Not the way I drove.

I guess I'm just surprised, the same people I used to fly by are now refusing to let me pass.

I get this all the time as well. It's pretty dumb. I just chill in the right lane and let everyone pass me. I don't drive fast....I don't need to drive fast....anyone in any car can drive fast...it just takes some cars longer to get there than others. Big deal. I don't want to race you. Haha. That's my rant. Seems as if we're all in agreement.

TDS ..... love it!

As soon as i get eye level to guy that speeds up, he immediately slows down and let's me pass.

The biggest problem with mine is the nut loose behind the wheel.

You hit the nail on the head...I notice that a lot too. I will get a fly by when lanes merge and then the person does 5 below the speed limit

There is also one fella I see regularly on my commute home who will drive down the shoulder to cut me off at a stop sign making a right.....and he smirks everytime. I still have yet to give in....yet I reiterate....
