I think there are some sprayed and reground cams that a singular manufacturer is trying to gauge interest on. The Ti-VCT in the mustang engine make it a little difficult to just swap in a pair of cams. I think the tuning for it would be a nightmare. not to mention replacing valve springs etc. Ive got quite a few more items in my build list i'd add before I consider cams.
I would also consider forging the internals over cam work. We are not quite as fortunate in the aftermarket as our 5.0 brethren. **EDIT** Wasnt there a Yellow V6 Camaro down in my neck of the woods that was testing some cams for you guys? What happened with that?

I think the cams showed some gains, but were never properly tuned. Then RX put his heads on it, and he lost 40 HP... that's the last I heard of it.

There is an entire thread on those cams. You can read about it with the link below. The cams cam from MACE Engineering. RX was the installer. There were issues with the cams and tuning. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...&highlight=cam

BUT... cams are not off the table for us yet. MACE is still producing cams, and there is good promise of cams for the LFX (2012+ V6 Camaros) soon. In fact there are a couple members here that have them on order and plan to install, and since the tuning for the LFX is much more open, I think we will see some good stuff there. As for the LLT (10 - 11 V6s) there is a company that is in the process of doing a heads/cams project I think for both the LLT and LFX, so we will see what comes of that.

Coilovers came in today and they look pretty sweet. I was in a hurry to get to work so I will have to get some better pictures later.
I did have time to weight them though haha! The fronts weighed 25.54lbs total and the rears weighed 17.5lbs total which is a grand total of 43.04lbs. I am glad I got these as opposed to the BC Racing ones because according to this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103098 the BC Racing coilovers weigh 45.6lbs, now that isn't much but I managed to save about 2.5lbs. Now I am not sure how much the stock setup on the v6 weighs but if it is the same as the SS (which I doubt) then the Megan Racing Coilovers are 17.8lbs lighter which is pretty good. I will know the exact weight of the v6 setup within a month or so thanks to an outside source. |

Not a problem, since I want to see how much they weighed as well!
I wasn't able to weigh my coilovers prior to getting them installed but just by picking them up I know anything is lighter than the stock struts

If I were V6 auto, I'd do a converter before I would do gears as the converter will help the 60 foot more.
I run my drag radials at 16 psi cold. Skinnies would have gotten me in an the 11's, my 18's are 11 lbs lighter each than the 20x9's I had on there (57 vs 68 lbs). Skinnies would probably be 35 lbs. I'd do a 3200 stall, tune, exhaust, weight reduction, Nitto 555R drag radials, and skinnies.
