2011 Camaro V6 vs. 2013 Challenger RT vs. 2008 Infiniti G35

I'm in an engineering club at my university and we make an offroad vehicle from scratch every year and compete in a world wide competition at different universities throughout the U.S. Well we just finished this year's vehicle and we got to test it at the local drag strip.

Well one of the advisors recently got a Challenger RT (auto) and saw me run my car at the strip and he now wants to race me. He is completely stock. My fastest time SO FAR (only gone to the track twice) is 14.5 seconds in the quarter mile. I'm working on my launch to make sure I can get off the line as fast as possible.

One of my coworkers also has a 2008 Infiniti G35 (auto) and wants to race me on Friday. It's completely stock as well.

Both of them have never raced before so I think I have the advantage there. Who do you think will win?

Challengers look and sound nice but that's about it stock. If you lose to the Infiniti it better have been because of a blown engine.

Sorry but I disagree. As long as they don't completely mess up the launch they'll have you beat. That challenger will run 13s easily and the g35 will run low 14s to high 13s.

if your best is a 14.5, id be ready to loose to the Challenger. the G35 might be a good race though.

Track conditions vary as much as driver skill does, but I think you will lose to both of them if a 14.5 is all you can muster up at this point.

On 2nd thought, Is that 14.5 with the tune, intake, and headers?

if so, you possibly have a slow track which means those other cars will be just as affected... so Might be closer than I'm thinking... you have a timeslip to look at?

And when is this race supposed to take place? I hate coming in here and seeing these phantom scenarios never take place.

G35 coupe or sedan?

Since neither has been to the track I think your best chance will be to try to tree them.

Honestly I think both cars will have you beat E/T wise. My 04 Mustang GT was a high 13low14 second car and my buddies 05 G35 coupe was neck and neck with me when raced

Im pretty sure you can beat both the challenger rt is a 5.7l while the Camaro SS is a 6.2l and they both weigh about the same Camaro is only about 200lbs less if you do loose against him its probably because you didn't launch right now if it was the SRT 8 that's a whole different story but trust my im both a Mopar and Chevy fan

Hands down the Camaro for the win the challenger has 360Hp and weighs over 4000 pounds without the driver and the g35 is a 3.5 liter with less then 300hp and its and auto so it shift really slow I raced both of them a challenger r/t runs 14s all day stock its and r/t not a Srt8 that's a different story and G35 haha really they are super slow unless its turboed

OP has a V-6, and I think a lot of people are not giving the G35 any credit in here.

R&T has a listed 1/4 of 13.90 for the coupe.

if the G35 is a coupe the OP may have their hands full

That is 14.5 with all my mods on. A lot of Camaros tend to run slower times than what's advertised so it's probably the track having too much traction.

This was the first pass of the day. It was around 70 F that day.

The race against the challenger was supposed to take place yesterday but had to cancel due to weather. We're hoping for Friday to do all 3 cars.

As a 2008 Infiniti G35 owner, if it's got the X all wheel drive and he's aggressive it's going to be a very close race. Not sure why folks are sure as life these cars are slow.
