You can't touch a V8 Mustang or Challenger for under 50k. You can get into a V8 Camaro for under 40 STILL.

Drugs are bad, mmkay.

Corvette Owners are peeved because the new A10 won't fit in the 'Vette and with all the issues they're having with the A8, they are not happy campers.

Not when I was shopping they weren't and the 39k "mustang" posted is BS, its a Kluge that you'll never be able to resell.
I could NEVER get a Mustang or Challenger anywhere near 40k, they were always around 50k-55k once you were done building them. I know, because I looked for a year.

I'm talking Retail, not aftermarket or used.. Once they hit the used market the margins narrow.
I still picked up my 2010 2SS with 4K miles for 32K. The V6 Camaro could be had for well under 25k.

Mustang GT starts at just over 32,600... put enough options on any of them and you're in the $50k range. You must be comparing a bare bones v8 Camaro to a fully loaded mustang.

This is pretty old news, TBH. Developing a transmission that can be used across several of their vehicles is hardly the equivalent of the Camaro and Mustang no longer having a rivalry. It's just an eye-catching title for a site that wants to make ad revenue.

Again, this is 3 month old news... has been covered to death since the unveiling of the ZL1 in March.

There will always be a rivalry if both Mustang and Camaro continue to exist. The rivalry isn't a bad thing if its taken in proper light. It helps the manufacturers improve their cars.

I just built a 2016 Mustang GT on Ford's website with their Premium Package, 6 speed manual, Nav, top stereo, adaptive cruise control, etc... and it came in at $43K before rebates. I then located the exact car at a local Ford dealer for $41K with 4th of July specials.

I know this'll have little bearing upon many of you but, if you use USAA car buying service, it's a guaranteed price by which ever local dealer is authorized to sell it to you at that price...

Yes, this is a basic GT but I assure you, adding options and all that jazz doesn't skyrocket the price at all. Now, it'll all depend on what they have on the lot and how close you can get it but, a few times I was messing around with this, made some phone calls and got some offers from dealerships about a few cars. 2016 Focus ST was $19k before tax, title and license. Before the S550 came out, I used it to find a 2014 GT Track Pack for $27k before tax, title and license. I didn't pull the trigger because I got my car, which MSRP'd at $38k for $32k after tax, title and license. I just couldn't justify the price difference.

I've also read before that back in 2007-08 GM purchased a brand new 5.0 Mustang and disassembled it, helping engineers develop a better V8 platform for the Camaro. Now, if this is true? nobody would ever know. I do know however the rivalry between the two would never die out.

Everyone, please be aware that the Camaro SS comes automatically with the "RS" HID/LED headlights, way better and higher quality interior, and suspension parts from the previous 5th gen 1LE Camaro. Therefore, the increase in price is reasonable IMO.

Camaro vs mustang will never stop unless do what Subaru and Toyota did with brz and frs don't see that happening but the performance of the 16 camaro is way better than the new mustang so that age old saying "you gotta pay to play"
On another note they both are getting away from being muscle cars. I like the look of both cars but they are more euro but times are changing

Yes I read they had two babies also and named then Mustaro and Camstang and now they are in divorce court and The Mustang being a female car of course wants child support because it claims it needs the help as its not as fast or strong as the Camaro.

Ford didn't come out with the "newest version" 5.0 until 2011.
