Is there kit with braket extensions?

My installer ground off the upper mounting bracket that is supposed to bolt to the cylinder head. Fits like a charm, and is very solid.

I didn't get a chance to look at it before he mofified ( cut off the bracket ) to see what other options there were, but like I say it is a very solid.

It'll work but it kinda sucks because, though I can make it meet the other tube, it will have to come out of the TB crooked. I may have to change up the bottom bracket on the other tube too.
If you loosen the bottom bolt will the pipe, and filter rotate enough to line up straight with the upper pipe. Also I am thinking it would be best to use a sleeve spacer and longer bolt up top rather than cutting off the upper bracket, like my installer did. However like I say my system is mounted rather solid, and I do check it very often.

Now add two washers on, one against the nut inside the bracket and the other outside the bracket. Now all you have to do is run one more nut on and adjust them to fit properly and then tighten them down against each other...

this should secure it firmly until you can get an opinion on other fix's. I would not cut anything until you know for sure...

this too

i probably over-torqued it when i was reinstalling it because it kinda twisted a little.

all that's just to say - be careful with that line
check your system for leaks and check the pressure in it. might just need a recharge.

I actually switched to the Roto-fab intake because they make one specifically for the maggie. My shop cut the tube on the old intake to fit, but it didn't look quite right. I also picked up some hp by swithching to the Roto-fab.

I know with some intakes, if you loosen the bracket where the tube goes into the intake box, it may allow the tube and filter to move enough to help get the tube to match up at the maggie.

Don't cut off any fingers or toes if you have to cut the tube!

How long have you driven like that? It does seem like it would be pretty solid.

No injuries thus far. lol

I do want to keep this intake. Espec. since I've heard from two shops so far that this is one of the better intakes, by numbers, for this car. I can make it work. I guess I just didn't want to have to mess with it too much.

pretty much. just wait till you get the fuel line you need. no sense in trying to use a bent line that could have lost structural integrity from bengin it.

Too much crap to go throug to start it today as apposed to Wed.

fiddle around with it some more, you might find something that works

I have been in the garage for 3 hours a night. lol

But, ya. I'll make this intake work. 500.00 frekin' intake. I BETTER make it work. Bonnie will kick my ass. lol

I'm headed to Lowes to get some hardware. I'm not worried about it. Just didn't want to have to fool with nothing else. But since I'm gonna wait for the fuel line, I got time. I am gonna drop that strut tower brace as well. Some of this crap is better done from beneath the car.

I can't find a thick enough bolthead screw for the water pump. I improvised and got it on there. It won't come off but it wobbles a bit.

It's all done but the fuel line. I may just cut the upper bracket off. Seems sturdy enough. I can always extend the bolt too.

At any rate. I want to start this thing sooooooo bad. I can't even put the tune in it yet. When you turn the key to load the tune, the gas line will try and pressurize and blow gas all over. So I'm done and waiting. I'll order the line tomorrow. I guess Wed. or Thursday before I can start it. Ugh..............

Here is the way the intake fit. Not too bad. I'd rather it line up better but only for a more cosmetic fit. This is about as straight as it's gonna go. I've negotiated it in every possible way. Since the upper brace is not hooked up, I left the lower one in. It's got to be one or the other. This seems to be the best way. (Yes, I put the clamps back on, lol)

didn't the tune go in in the beginning?

even so....i had to reconnect my battery to do the bump start to remove the H bolt....there is a fuse in the trunk that will disable the fuel pump.....

i found the need to find it the hard way....
