Mettalic tint affects radio reception?
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has metallic tint on their camaros and if you do, do you have any issues with reception or anything?
My car is supposed to go get tints tomorrow. I asked for lumar but they only carry Solar Guard and the one they have is metallic. They just did a friend of a friends Camaro with the same tint. Thanks for the help guys

Yep. My dealer used metallic tint, and claims it is the only one they know of that will stand up to Phoenix heat. My AM reception, though, is absolute crap because of it. He said if I want better reception, get rid of the tint. Not an option here.

I'd think the extra mettle in the car would help with reception... :P plus your antennae isn't on the inside of the car anyways...

lol you guys are funny. alright thanks folks If this tint guys uses the quantum solar gard then ill go for it 175 ant a bad deal around here

I just had my tints done this weekend and opted out of the metallic tints because of this exact reason. The guy said it varied from car to car. The guy said he had 2 buddies that both had camaros and they both had the metallic tint done and one had no problems whatsoever and one has terrible static. Don't know if thats true but I opted out for the supreme tint, a little more expensive but wanted to avoid the possible bullshit. I only use ipod/xm, but FM for when im sitting in the car wash!
