Awesome.

Like I've been saying, I'll keep my deadly switchblade.
LOL , now what is going to catch on your pants? There isn't anything on the fob that could possibly do that...

My dealer's already done the modification and cut me a key. Looks just like that. The problem is they used a generic key blank and had it cut. GM told them that since it wasn't an official key they still couldn't deliver the car to me.

How much more 'official' does it have to be. It was done at a dealer and there is a bowtie on the key haha

No bow tie on the key means not official. They used generic blanks presumably because they didn't change oem keys in stock.

I can't see from the pick, did they fill up the gap in the FOB with something where the old key was??

If not, what an abortion!

Haha. It's just as likely as me hitting the key with my knee.

Actually now that i think of it, the new "design" may not catch on my pants, but it could very well if I'm wearing shorts. All my shorts are cargo shorts. Those things catch on everything.

And from the description a few posts ago, they remove the key from the fob and don't replace it with anything to fill the gap. Leaving the possibility for it to catch on something.

Hmm I see aftermarket opportunity to make a little screwdriver that will go in place of the flip out key part, that could prove handy....

You think they could at least put a non-functional key into the fob so it looks complete.

They should do what audi and mercedes did. Audi you can even charge the fob while driving in the port (you need it in your pocket or in the car to drive) and mercedes has no metal key at all, besides the hidden one not many people even know they have. Mercedes uses a sensor at the tip of the fob to tell the ignition it is the proper key and you turn it just like any other fob, and you're on your way.

Also, don't most chevy sedans now have the same exact key fob? Switch blade? I wonder when they will be recalled.
