Review

So far I have very few complaints, simply put the gen6 is just way more refined than the gen5. I feel like I upgraded to a luxury sports car compared to my gen5. If I had to pick one big difference that I have noticed it is in the shifting. The clutch is a lot lighter and the transitions between gears with the M6 is much more smooth than the gen5 ever was. Another thing I have noticed is the little extra power and the wait loss, the get up and go and throw you back in you're seat feel is noticeably better than it was in my gen5 and the sound of the NPP is something you can not miss, man it truly does sound amazing.

https://youtu.be/Qrs0oa-XIV4 < not me, just a really great clip of how the NPP sounds

As for the view from inside, I also think it is improved from the gen5, yes the rear window is a lot smaller but as for seeing over the hood, and the blind spots, they for me all seem a bit more open than in the gen5s It's not an easy thing to describe but if you're used to driving sports cars, know how to properly adjust you're side view mirrors, and turn and look you should have no issues at all. I'm 5'9" so ceiling height isn't an issue for me at all, I have a good 4"-6" clearance but I set my seat all the way down as well. One compliant I have heard a few times is about the "Camel Hump" on the dash. I was expecting something a lot worse from the complaints but it's really a non issue, the seats have height adjustment same as the gen5s do, so if you'er having issues seeing over the hump or the hood then raise the seat.....
The interior is simply amazing I did upgrade from a 1LT gen5 to a 2LT gen6 so I'm sure that has a lot to do with how much more improved the interior seems to me. I personally like the smaller cabin, like some have said it has a bit of a fighter jet cockpit feel to it. Much nicer compared to the cave of an interior the gen5s have. Yes the back seats are basically just backpack shelf but you could bring along two adult passengers if needed, no adult is going to be sitting behind the driver tho. The first thing my 6 year old niece's asked when they crawled in the back was "Why is it so small back here?"

The hvac system and set up is ingenious and works very well, it gives you so many different options on how to control it, from duel zone manual temps and fans, to auto sync the cabin temp of you're choice, along with heated and fan cooled seats, am I talking about a Lexus or a Camaro?

The infotainment system is great, I've heard a few complaints about it's downward tilt but to be honest I wouldn't have even noticed it was tilted slightly down if I hadn't read about it. Apple car play is nice, especially for the hands free texting, and music apps. Apple maps worked well for me getting back from Michigan to Cincinnati but if I traveled and used Nav a lot I would prefer the upgraded GM Nav option over using car play. The dash display is also very impressive, I didn't get the lighting and convenience package so I don't even have the 8" screen and still am loving it. There are loads of options you can select and deselect that show all kinds of info from fluid temps, to trip ticks and average gas mileage, to track timers and G force indicators. Not even sure what I am missing from the upgraded version but am not missing anything I need or would ever use that's for sure.

There are only a few minor things I think I would change if I did my order over again, skip the cargo net and fitted cover. The cargo net is fairly small from what I was expecting. I thought it would go all the way across the width of the trunk and be clipped from one side to the other but it's really just a small net clipped to the back wall of the trunk, not much use for it other than holding a few spray bottles and cleaning supplies.

The fitted cover did fit well and looked ok but it does not have a soft lining, and I didn't really feel that it would be very good for the paint in the long run. I will be sticking with my aftermarket cover I used on my gen5.

Overall this Camaro is amazing I am loving everything about it. If you're still considering weather or not you want to grab a gen6 I would suggest going out and test driving one, once you see it, hear it, and feel it, you're mind will be made up!!!!

Special Thanks

I would like to give a Very Special Thanks to BeckyD, if you are on this forum you probably already know but Becky is the most passionate, informed, and caring dealer you could ever deal with!!! Thank You Becky for all you did for me and all you do for everyone here on Camaro6, and the other sites, you truly are amazing!!

I would also like to thank Maureen, Gerry, Tom, and the entire team at Rodgers Chevrolet!!!

Working with BeckyD was the best car buying experience I have ever had, and I have had quite a few over the years, I can't say enough to explain how great BeckyD and the staff at Rodgers Chevrolet is. My Camaro was produced in 5 weeks from Order date, and it was delivered to Rodgers Chevrolet in an amazing 4 days after it came off the production line. Even with the quick delivery Maureen had the LPO items ready to go before my Camaro even arrived. Everything was installed to perfection the next day by Rodgers Service department. The day I picked my Camaro up Becky walked me around introducing me to each person involved in getting my car prepared from Maureen in Parts and Accessory's who gave me a bag of swag, to Gerry in the service department who offered to call and rais hell to any local service department that gives me any trouble, Joe the GM checked in wile we where finishing the paperwork to make sure things where going well. It was an all around pleasant experience. This dealership IS the exception to the rule when you hear all those horror stories about dealerships out there. Becky and the Rodgers Chevrolet team will treat you're car like it is their own from the time it is backed off the truck until you take delivery!!

You can find Becky here http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=424754

Thanks, drives like a dream, its hard to put into words, the best way I can describe it is that it is much more refined compared to the gen5s, lighter clutch, smoother transitions between shifts, corners great, has plenty of get up and go even for a V6 can only imagine how the V8s would feel. The interior is comfortable, the tech is light years ahead of the gen5s, the heating and cooling system is great, just all together improved plan and simple.

It was a $385 option I placed with my order. You can probably get one cheaper from any GM parts accessory department. I use Maureen at Rodgers Chevrolet you can find her here http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430649
