Gas mileage with top down

Just curious to see what other people are seeing as far as differences in gas mileage driving with the top up vs top down.

I drove about 70 miles or so, 65mph most of the way with the top down and saw about a 1 mpg difference to the negative. Obviously you lose some of the aerodynamics with the top down and I'm not overly concerned with the loss of gas mileage (its just the nature of the beast) but was curious to see what other people are seeing.

I haven't compared top up to top down, but I am sitting at around 26mpg with top down. Driving conditions were in hills and twisties.

26 mpg for an SS with top down on hills and twisties???? There must have been some serious downhill coasting.

I'm getting like 16 mpg... any tips? I do have the top down 90% of the time (not my DD).

I don't know! I don't drive it like I stole it yet! (only turned 2000km), but I'm not driving Miss Daisy either!

I reset the fuel trip on each tank too. I am actually going on a road trip tomorrow and will put some miles on, we'll see what it does then.

I don't push a new engine until about 3k...that's when i'll drop the first oil and flush all the break-in filings out!

This is not my DD either...all fun miles!

I drive it like I stole from day one. I've only driven it with the top up once for a few miles when it started to rain. It is a combination of highway and city with 17.7 mpg.

Just put 350 km on a one way of the trip and got a reading of 9.4 l/100 km. That turns out to be just over 30 mpg on imperial gallons. It works out at 25 mpg on a U.S. gallon. I'm ok with that!

16-18 mpg with 2400 miles. But who's concerned about fuel ecomony, that's what hybrids are for.
