Launch control

If I wanted my car ('14 SS M6) to hook up and stay in one piece when I use launch control what should I look into upgrading? The car is completly stock

Better idea, don't use launch control.
You can get more consistent/smoother/faster launches by controlling the clutch and rpm's yourself.

An adjustable launch controller. I have an msd that I bought for my corvette that I never installed. $150 if you are interested.

Yea im used to launching on my own but i thought to myself how cool that would be to utilize launching at 5K!!! Lol and its there might as well use it. Im just wondering what i should beef up like I've heard the diff will scatter it you use LC and the car actually hooks up, but what about the axles, drive shaft, tranny ect?

Launch control

You can't scatter your diff @ stock power levels. You can break an axle and kill your LSD.

I started with subframe bushing inserts, lower control arms and toe rods. Never broke anything at 460rwhp. Added a blower and 140rwhp and upgraded to a Trutrac, 3.91's and G-Force outlaw axles inside the factory diff and have close to 100 passes on that setup.

Perfect thats what i wanted to hear! I already planed to do all that, i didnt know what axels or diff to choose. So with stickier tires and all those parts switched up the car should stay in one piece?

Trutrac can hold over 800rwhp if it is installed correctly and everything is torqued correctly on the unit. DSS and GForce both make very good axles and stand behind their stuff. For gears, I'm using GM's

What are the chances that you'll break the rear end if you have 3.91's with true trac and either DSS or gforce axles?

Can someone help me out?

I am following all the directions for launch control but when I release the clutch my tires just spin. Any reason why this is happening?

Thanks

Are you on the street or a prepped track? Are you dumping the clutch or bringing it out with your foot?

I am on the street and I have tried both dumping and just bringing the clutch out.

I always thought the algorithm in the ECM was written for a prepped track and a brought out clutch. I think they took into consideration the fact that the track was sticky and applied that to how the TC system interacted with wheel speed. Ive never used it on the street though.

Ok thanks. I am going to a quarter mile track for the first time next month. Any quick tips before I start reading the sticky for newbies?

Dont try and force a good time. If the car gets loose, get out of it. Not worth putting your car into a wall and having 10 different angles of it on youtube! Once you get a couple runs under your belt, youll be able to feel what you can and cant drive through. Most of all have fun! Let us know what you run.
