Yes it's installed correct . I called the manufacture to Make sure.

Make sure the valve is closed... start the car and put ur finger over the tube.. you will feel it sucking if its open

???? If you check it you will see...does not matter if it has 200 miles on it, the issue is with every single LLT & LFX & LY7. Guaranteed.

It's your car and you can choose to not address it, but I guarantee you if you pull the TB off and look inside the IM (or better yet, pull the plenum cover off) you will see it full of oil. Have worked on hundreds of these over the years and not a single one did not have the issue, and in 2-3k miles your valves will look like this:

I see, you have the SS. Yes, top tier fule travels past the intake valves and does prevent deposits from forming and I would have to agree on that.....I was mistaken thinking you had a 3.6DI and there is no fuel touching the valves. But, the ingestion still is there and causing detonation and some mild power loss.

Pull your TB and look in the IM...I guarantee it has oil in it even though you are not seeing usage, and any oil in the combustion mixture will have a negative effect on the burn pattern and the amount of energy released per explosive event.

But you are correct on a port injection engine the fuel additives will help keep the deposits from forming unlike a DI engine.

The picture above is a DI motor.

And nice #'s for a cam....and I am impressed you (or whoever did the install) took the time to degree it....says alot about the knowledge in play.
