I was told straight out from GM that any car sold to anyone anywhere without recall ignition work done and they let the buyer take it home is going to get busted. I could not even take it for a test drive. We were getting ready to leave for the drive and the sales manager came running out. I guess what some dealerships are doing is letting the owner decline the fix and resubmitting it right after the sale to release the car. These dealerships that are doing this are in big doo doo when the government finds out. As I said $7000 per day fine that the car is released and not fixed. The manager even let me speak to a person from GM (rep) and the are taking big time heat already from dealerships that have released cars. I was at Ingersoll in Danbury....which from what I understand is a major parts hub in N.E. for the replacement keys

Yeah see when I asked my salesperson at MJ Sullivan, he was clueless on the recall.... don't get me wrong, Im glad I got my car, but how can you work in the industry and not know about recalls that affect your business?

The rep told me that there is a dealership in the midwest that has already amassed $100,000 in fines. The ones that think they got away with it....or did not know....wow.

Hope you had a Chevy dealer run the vin for you, a car fax is basically useless stuff only goes on it if it's reported. I looked at a Z with a clear car fax at a jeep dealer had a Chevy dealer run the vin for me and the things that came up well let's just say it was an abused vehicle. Good luck I hope you get it soon.

I did......like you said...if it isnt reported what good is it. The worse thing it had was a computer reflash in 2011. Not sure why.

Can't believe how slow some dealerships are. Dealership where I'm going to school at ATM, a very small and low volume dealer, has already done the work to all their cars. Hard to believe some still have not performed the work.

It's dealership politics some will jump at the recall as a way to get shit done and make customers happy others decide it's not worth messing with the monthly budget to get parts shipped faster. Threaten to walk away from the deal and i bet they'll have it overnighted though.
