Grand Theft Attempt

Well. My secure parking garage at work turns out to be not so secure. Car 36 ( with only 1407 miles on it) was the target of grand theft auto last Friday. Yes that's right. I came back to the garage and someone had taken a slim Jim/ jimmy to the drivers door, creasing the rubber and bending it down into the door.
There was no permanent damage to the car only to my psyche.
The security is reviewing the tapes to see if I can id the "bad guy".
This is nuts. I am already semi paranoid about leaving it anywhere so now this.
Of course the police are not impressed since the would be theif didn't actually take the car but did tell me since it is the only one in my city that I shouldn't be surprised as the parts value is more than the cars value.
Oh great. Just great.
I talked to a local shop today about a extra kill switch and they didn't recommend it.

So what's a girl to do.

are you sure it was an attempt?

the rubber on the doors of my 2012 were just replaced yesterday, they seemed to get stuck in the "down" position when the window went down and would not come back when the window went up.

it looked like someone slim jimmied the car, but it in fact was the rubber, dealer even told me he has replaced it on quite a few cars, the new set of rubber is much stiffer than the originals and they do not seem to go "down" when I use the windows and they pop back up if I attempt to push down with my finger.

The old ones if I pushed down, they would stay down.

"Most" isn't good enough.

I also see this on my car. I was freaked out when I first saw it thinking it was a break in attempt.

However, like Mr iNCREDIBLE said, I think the rubber is cheap and is creasing pretty easy.

Hey, #36 is my car's immediate predecessor. Glad she wasn't lifted.

My car had this same issue.

have your dealer replace them, the new ones are a lot stiffer rubber, not as soft and weak as the original ones.

3 days now and I haven't seen the issue return, but I will be keeping an eye on it.

What dealer did you take your car too? If you don't mind me asking.
