cutting power during burnout in PTM 5

I'm looking for a way to fix this issue... it's very annoying and somewhat makes the car not fun what all the nannies are supposed to be off in PTM 5.

I took my 13 A6 stock zl1 to the track this past weekend and my best time was a 12.0@117mph. The car did feel quick for being stock. All of my runs were in PTM 5 which is supposed to be for drag racing. My only complaint is that when you do a burnout it feel like the cars is cutting power. I couldn get a nice burnout going but as soon as I would try and roll out of it it would kill power which I don't like. If anyone has had experience with this and knows a way to avoid this your comments would be great.

I am also looking to to a couple mods like i take tune and pullies. Is this something that my tuner could fix for me?

Thank you Rob

Press and hold the Traction Control button for 5-7 seconds = All Nannies off.

So just because it's in PTM 5 doesn't mean everything is off? So I also have to hold tc button for 5-7 seconds?

No PTM modes are all off...they're just varrying degrees of less control. Holding the TC button for 7 sec is the only way to turn everything off, and even then some have noticed the stabilitrac kick in. But, careful with it all off, youre on your own if she gets squirrelly.

You must turn everything off, IE, hold button down for 7 seconds or so, when you see both the stabilitrac and tc icons light up on your dash. Then you can do a burnout. Really the only way to run at the track unless it is extremely greasy.

Some DR's would be a good mod combined with all nannies being off.

It will still cut power with traction off and/or abs fuses pulled. Ask me how I know...

A line lock made the burnouts easier.

Ok so is pressing and holding tc button for 5-7 seconds doing anything different then me pressing tc button twice in a row. I normally hit tc button twice and both icons come up on dash then i used tour/sport to toggle between the ptm modes. If I start the car up and hold down tc button for 5-7 seconds is this doing anything different from how I was doing it before with pressing bottom twice simultaneously?

There is virtually no difference doing a burn out in PTM 5 or both lights on holding the button for 7 to 10 seconds.. Both ways it will try some funny buisness.. Also I have turned my best time on my bone stock car in PTM 5 in the High 11's I have seen no perceptible difference in PTM5 vs both lights on from the 7 to 10 second hold.. I went through this just this last weekend spending the time to see if there was a difference..

I have not pulled the ABS fuse so I can not comment on that.. But try for yourself and report back on PTM5 vs traction control and stabilitrac off. You see a lot of advice on here and I am not sure it is from actual experience. good luck

Ok thanks for everyone's input. I just went back and re watched the GM ZL1 video on YouTube about PTM. It talked about tthe way I was doing it which let's you chose different ptm modes but then also states that if you press and hold tc button it will turn everything off and it's not recommended for road use. Must of missed that part when I first watched the video. So when I get home I will try this and report back. I know I have seen plenty of pics and videos with zl1 ' s doing some nice burnouts. I just hope this let's me Control the car alot better.

Like I said and you will find out it will still give you feedback and try to buck your burnout even with both lights on. Seems like I can always do a good burnout though.. just kinda fights you Mine is a 13 so I guess it could be just my car or other years are different, Who knows..lol
