Ditto (except for the Thomas More reference).

Throw out bearing went out on my car today. It was acting real funky on my way back home from the track last night. Took it to my dads and we put it on the lift, when he ran it we could hear the throw out bearing(i probably didn't notice before due to the engine/exhaust noise. But after shut it off I asked if the pedal stayed up(it got sucked to the floor on me when I was parking it) and he said yea. Then when he pushed it down the throw out bearing failed and we had a nice puddle on the floor of brake fluid.

Edit: Its not all bad news though. Ran a new PB 12.08 @ 117 last night. Lost in the first round of eliminations, Dialed a 12.10 and ran a 12.105 but got beat at the lights.

Those are good times. What is your 60' and what are you launching at? My best so far is 12.42 but my 60' is in the 2 plus second range. I launch at around 3500 rpm, car still spins through first. I don't want to push my stock axels that hard.

Buy new axles since you know they're the weak link.

60' on the 12.08 pass was 1.866. Almost all my 12.1X passes are in the 1.8's as well. Your probably gonna crap but Im launching it between 5-6k, Iv had my best luck there anyways. I could launch at less then that but I just haven't been able to time it right so it doesn't bog. Which im running a Monster Level 3 clutch and its great for how I slip the clutch, performed pretty good so far. Which iv only been launching like this for 2 weeks, before that I was running 12.5-12.6 with 2.2-2.35 60'.

It was also good for 28th spot in the Internal Engine Mods plus Bolt-Ons Stock Displacement class in the drag forum on here. I think there is only 4 cars on the top 30 running street tires.

Stock axles and driveshaft, and honestly Im not worried about them at all. How it leaves is great, no wheel hop and not a big shock to the drivetrain. They may go eventually but Im pretty confident they will last a while until I decide to upgrade.

I will since it's only a matter of time till they go. Especially with the drag radials now.

I'm going to give your method a try. I upgraded my clutch last year to the McLeod RXT so I think it will be ok for a while. Worst case scenario, I will find all the weak links real quick.

Yea, I think as long as you launch right the axles will be fine. The biggest thing that breaks stuff is wheel hop. Which Iv barely had any this year. Last year I had a lot of problems, which I didn't really have any sort of idea what I was really doing anyways lol.

Hopefully I don't find my weak link anytime soon, last week was expensive enough. But when it comes, I'm not going to be butt hurt. Just like my throw out bearing, just a matter of time.

I guess you could wait til they break, but if you launch hard and have enough power behind it the axles will break pretty easy. I'd much rather replace the weak links before they break. It's a known issue with the M6. I'd hate to be at the track and break something like that and have to tow the car back. That's just me tho.

There is no doubt that that's the ideal way. I just don't have the spare money to go buy some gforce or dss axles unless I absolutely NEED to. So don't think I don't agree with you because I do, it's just not in my best interest at this point in time. Lucky for me we have a trailer so if she breaks at the track I can haul her back home myself.

Ahh having that trailer is nice. I wouldn't be to concerned if I had a trailer. Those axles are expensive. I'm waiting on my Gforce axles now.

Yea, its nice having it for sure. Good piece of mind knowing I won't have to call a tow company to come get me. Just gotta hope my dad is feeling nice or I have a friend that can drop me off at the house to get the truck and trailer.
