You've obviosly never had a Bad #ss drag car before. $89,000 is right in line for a Stock NHRA spec, brand new drag car that can run the index. I had $125,000 in my 02 Super Stock Pontiac Firebird. You have to remember, you are dealing with a rotisory car that has everything perfect. There is a big difference between this and other cars. MPR built and designed this car and that guy is the best in the business. Thats why Ford, Dodge and GM went to him to build the drag pack cars.

I see it starts with a body in white, curious as to who builds it from there.
Oxford Michigan is where it's going to happen.

The 427 ran 9.60's with 400 pounds of weight in it on the first day. It will run 9.20's with the weight out. The car weights 3070 with all fluids FULL.

Yep! That's an extra $70,000 that has to be figured into the equation!

You're NOT just a fan-boy are you?

Take a look at NHRA's Weight Indexes for the intended Classes to be run...and that will give you an idea of the "factored" hp available for each engine combo.

I'm talking about what they make, not what GM is saying. LOL
My buddy built the car and he did mine also, they tried to get me to take one but I have a ZL1 coming.

Clearly understood...it's what I alluded to, earlier, without outright naming them...

What am I missing? Didn't they already announce the COPO race Camaros a couple months ago? What's different?

They were only concepts at SEMA. Now they're going to be built and sold

Most of the better drag strips broadcast the announcements of classes and lanes on one of the FM radio stations. The radio might be a good idea since it's most often very difficult to hear the announcer with the burnouts and such.

They announced the not for production prototype to judge interest in them. They hadn't yet decided to build it. Along with thousands of others, I was asked if I was ready to buy when I signed up for their COPO news letter.
