Installing APEX scoop with wheel on?
Can this be done? I bought the scoop and washer re locator kit, but I don't have jack stands and things of that sort so I was wondering if these can all be done with the wheel liner off and the wheel turned all the way to the side?
Anyone do this or know if anyone who did? And how much more difficult would it possibly make things? |

I know someone that did it with the wheel on, but I don't know how he did it. But yeah, it is possible. He said it was pretty difficult though

If you lived closer, I would invite you over and give you a hand with it.
Perhaps some of the NJ C5 members will offer you some help? That's right, I'm calling you guys out to help a fellow C5 member. |

It is nearly impossible for me to install the scoop with wheel on. So i removed the wheel and installed it.
It would be easy if you have some help. May be NJ C5 members will chime in here. If you remove the front fascia, it is a piece of cake though....

It would be very easy to do with the wheel on if you pull the front bumper off. Pulling the bumper is pretty easy and gives you tons of access. You can pull the bumper without pulling the wheels.

I did it with the wheel off...at the time I didn't have a jack or jack stands I just used the lift thingy that came with the spare tire kit (assuming that came with your car)

A floor jack may be your friend.

I don't have a torque wrench either which is why I was hoping to avoid taking the wheel off :/

you can just turn the wheel to the side you're not working on then vice versa.

Do to money constraints, I passed on the scoop at the time I did my CAI cai. Now, a few pay days later I am looking into the scoop. What does it do? Why do I want it? Does claim to accomplish anything? I know you can't answer this one, Will I like it?

Directs cold air from the lower grill up to the bottom of the cold air intake box. It requires that you remove the stock washer fluid bottle, but you can buy the relocation kit that comes with a smaller tank if you want to keep this functionality.
Colder Air = Denser Air = More Power It doesn't do a darn thing when you're sitting still. The faster you go, the more air it "scoops" to the intake. I don't see why not. I installed mine right off the bat when I installed my CAI intake, so I can't compare with/without performance. Maybe other could help me out here?
