Exclamation Auto Start didn't work. Check Engine light on.

2010 1LT RS.

About 2-3 weeks ago I got an axle-back installed. Everything was fine until 2 days ago. The Check engine came on on Sunday. I drove it home and was fine. Monday I went to subway and the check engine light didnt come on. Today, Tuesday, I tried to autostart the car; it didn't work. I went outside and turned the key and it started up just fine but the check engine light was on again.

Whats up with my Camaro???

Need to find out what code/codes it is throwing. Im confident in saying the check engine light is NOT caused by your axle back though.

i would get those check engine light troublecodes asap. thats the first thing you should do not just hope they dont come back on next time you drive it. they will check them for free at any parts store.

Codes? So just go to a part store and they can check for the codes?

yeah, find an autozone. they can give you the code for what the problem is. they will hook up an OBDII reader to your car. takes 2 minutes. autostart doesn't work with a CEL. once you figure that out, your autostart will work again.

Indeed.

And as long as a check engine light (CEL) code is showing up in the car's computer, you cannot remote start your car

Im in school right now. I'll check the gas cap in an hour or 2. Hopefully thats what it is. If not then I guess i'll be going to autozone soon!

i'm not 100% sure, but if it is your fuel cap, you might have to drive around for a while, before the CEL clears. doesn't hurt to go to the auto store and get a code reading. it's free.

Occasionally my keyless start will start cranking then stop. Then I get in to see the low fuel light on

if it is the fuel door the autparts store can also clear the code for you.
