I find the wide gap between the number of 2ss andd 1ss sold compared to the close game of the number of 2lt vs 1lt sold telling.

Seems like, the 1ss is almost a useless model to offer, because if someone is going to to get the V8 they might as well get the 2ss, because its absolutely illogical to spend the money on the SS and not get the full model.

Now compare that to the narrow gap between 2lt and 1lt. Looks like the 1LT owners didn't see the point of spending any more change, because they wanted to stay at a certain pricepoint. But combine the 2 numbers and you have almost 35% of the market being V6 Camaros.

Many people voice how much they love ABM but the numbers never proved it which why it got pulled. It was the lowest numbered Camaro from what I remember.

V-6 = 41.5% (LS+1LT+2LT)

V-8 = 58.5% (1SS+2SS)

Second most popular color is Red...if you combine the two shades of red (~19.0%).

Better be careful- if trim levels are anything like paint, the 1SS could be heading down an ugly road... When you compare, you have to look at strictly V6 then strictly V8. The 1SS is less than 12% of the V8 volume while the V6 trims are 16.2%, 36.5%, and 47.3% respectively of the total V6 production. I would venture a guess that there is a number at which they would drop a trim level; say if 1SS falls below 7% of the V8 volume...

ONLY A GUESS PEOPLE...don't freak out.

Hmmmm, it seems people do care about options and luxuries even in a muscle car.

Who would have thought.

+1

One of the reasons I bought an LS. If they would have made an LS with the V8 option for around 2-3k more, I would have bought it.

I got a 1SS because I hate leather seats. I dont mind the rest (blue tooth, stereo etc) but they arent that important to me. If they offered the 2SS in cloth I'd have gone with that.

It will be interesting to see these two charts again after all the 2010's are built, just to see the final percentages of models and colors.

True. I honestly thought that by this point the V6 would have overtaken the V8. I would expect current V6 sales to outdo V8 sales by 2:1 now that the initial "gotta have it" group is done and the weather is breaking in all the northern states.

WTF

Or maybe some of us just don't want leather and want to be special for a low model production. Because maybe down the road since so few are made they will be worth more LOL
