Does the 1LE look too much like the ZL1?

Maybe its just me, but the 1LE borrows a little too much from the ZL1 for me. I know the real difference is under the hood, but going down the street they will look very similar. I liked the world where no other Camaro looked like the ZL1. It still bothers me that most people don't know if my SS is a V6 or V8. That being said I guess most people will not know my ZL1 is supercharged, exotic slaying beast

To me, not really no. Sure it has the same wheels (which were originally the SSX wheels, unless you ordered the polished) but the front is an SS w/ a splitter. The ZL1 fascia and hood insert is what really sets it apart so from others in the front, so no they don't look the same... maybe from the side since the skirts and wheel combo but still I would have to say no overall it doesn't look to similar to the ZL1.

Does it really matter that much what other people think?

And do you think everyone's gonna look at the ZL-1 and 1LE and mistake them for each other? Joe Blow doesn't even know what a ZL-1 or a 1LE is-- same with most of the general population.

I don't know about you, but I prefer a sleeper anyway... which is what I'm building my poor, lowly LT into

As The Rock typically says "It doesn't matter what you think!"

haha

Each model has its own unique owner. One may like one and dislike another. We see it all the time here. Wants a SS but likes the V6 fascia or a V6 owner who likes the SS fascia. 1LT owner liked it had cloth instead of leather.... So on and so forth..

Don't hate on other peoples choices. GM is excellent at marketing.

The 1LE in my opinion is the Camaro Ls7 concept without the Almighty LS7
1LE

LS7 concept

Agreed, seems that everything that would differentiate the ZL1 from other models was 'borrowed' for this package. Everything except the hood looks similar, all the front, side, rear body moldings, the exhaust, and wheels look the same.

The look doesn't bother me.
What bothers me is more around the fact that with the 1LE in the mix at $40k I am having trouble seeing the $15k price difference to the ZL1

My wife saw the 1LE and said "Wow that looks like the ZL1". I am not trying to be a ZL1 snob (especial since I don't have mine yet ; ) but I wish the 1LE was more unique and less ZL1 diet. For those who don't mind their 60K ZL1 looking like a less powerful model, would you purchase a Camaro LS with a LS9 for 65K

It doesn't bother me at all. The ENTIRE line-up looks SO good to me. I think there's enough to distinguish the models.

I am going to add that I'm stupid-happy Team CAMARO continues to improve the car. They don't take it's sales lead for granted and it seems to me, they are doing they're best to keep us interested. KUDOS for that

Thanks, GM.

You know - back on topic - it might be nicer to see different wheels, however, ZL1 does enjoy optional wheels that are different, so I really don't care much. I think the 1LE wheels are the best GM's made to memory. I think it's a good balance. There's enough to still justify what ZL1 has, but enough to make 1LE stand on it's own.

While the ZL1 and 1LE look alike in some ways, in my opinion, they look really different. Not enough to loose sleep over.

I don't doubt that anyone that knows cars will be able to tell the difference, I just don't get why they seem to want all the models to start blurring together.
