Anyone else love the paddle shifters?

I must admit I was never a big fan of them until owning this car. While its true you dont get quite the same feeling pushing a button as working a stick, I will gladly take that over working a heavy clutch in stop and go traffic. Its also great to have hands on the wheel and not having to downshift. Plus, most of these engines have been proven to shift faster than any human can and you dont need to take your foot off the gas. I love mine!

Cruising down the highway in 6th gear and dropping it down to 3rd gear is WOW. Front end pops up and you're off.

How do you shift gears in M without using the paddles/buttons?

I've used the Tapshift several times, especially on curved roads and its great. I wish these were true paddles as my 2004 Grand Prix GTP had...

ya dude. if you put it in "M" and don't touch the buttons, it is an automatic transmission....it shifts more aggressively than if you were just in "D". If you put it in "M" and touch the buttons then you use the paddles to shift

I have just been using M (or Sport)...I love it. Don't do a lot of paddle shifting.

Ok, the M mode left untouched is the S or "sport" mode and it kinda sucks haha. Just tried it out and its for sure faster shifting yourself cause you can keep it in the sweet spots, especially on downshifts. If you have it set to M1 and mash the pedal, takes it awhile to go. I have found that if you wind it to about 2500-3000 RPM and floor it, you are off and running very nice. Click into 2nd around 5800-6000 RPM and you get a nice boost out of 2nd gear too. Doing this, it feels a few ticks faster than the claimed 6.1 seconds to 60 for sure.
