[VR] Bolt On 6th Gen ZL1 makes 692rwhp!!!

It seemed like ZL1 month here at Vengeance Racing. With the reputation of this amazing and capable Camaro we have had many customers looking to modify their 6th Gen ZL1’s. Chris recently had his beautiful white ZL1 transported to us all the way from Florida for a complete bolt-on performance package. Chris had already installed a Cold Air intake on his ZL1 and was looking to wake the LT4 up further. For his build we went with the following:

• Kooks 1 7/8” Longtube Header System w GREEN catted Conn Pipe
• Vengeance Racing High Temp Spark Plug wire isolators
• ATI Balancer Kit for LT4
• Lingenfelter 9.17” 18% Pulley
• Vengeance Racing Flex Fuel Sensor Kit
• 180* Thermostat

Chris wanted a louder tone out of his exhaust so we decided to run the Kooks 1 7/8” Headers with a “GREEN” Catted Connection pipe per his request. With this we added our Vengeance Racing high temp spark plug wire insulators to protect his plug wires from the added heat. From there we added ATI’s Balancer kit along with Lingenfelter’s 9.17” Pulley to increase boost on the LT4 supercharger.

Chris was looking to run both pump gas and E85 so we added our Vengeance Racing Flex Fuel Sensor Kit. Unfortunately the OEM fuel system will not allow you to run 100% E85 at this power level, so we utilized a 50/50 mix to satisfy his performance goals while still taking advantage of the E85 fuel. With the car buttoned up it was time to head over to our chassis dyno for final tuning. On pump gas, Chris’ ZL1 made 646rwhp and 719rwtq and on 50% E85 the ZL1 made 692rwhp and 750rwtq. These were excellent results for these few modifications and Chris was blown away by the night and day difference in the cars performance with like-stock drivability.

Check out more of our Feature Builds, Performance Packages and Products at our website https://vengeanceracing.net/index.html. We have a wide range of performance parts on our online store for your LS or LT build. Feel free to contact us with any questions at Sales@VengeanceRacing.net or by phone @ 678-513-7105. We look forward to hearing from you.

I am doing the same setup and was wondering what the plug gap on the new plugs will be? I have ordered most of the parts from Vengeance and about ready for the install.

If it is of any help - the gap is kind of determined by how much boost you are running because the added boost can kind of "blow out" the spark

Unless you are running 20lbs or more, .021" - .023" on E85 with heat range #7 plugs (I run LTR7IX at .022" on 12lbs with no issues) will be just fine

I would highly recommend the NGK plugs
