Question Which Axle back: Magnaflow Street or SLP Loudmouth II???

2SS M6 w/ 1-7/8" ARH with hiflow cats.

No mufflers, just stainless all the way back to the axle, where there is just 2.5" pipe and OEM tips.

Overall volume is too loud, lots of rasp, angry barking trombone at WOT...like Nascar.

Need recommendation on axle back. Between the magnaflow street and SLP loudmouth II, which mufflers are better for:

- ZERO rasp.
-as little drone as possible
-deep bassy muscle car tone/note
-reintroduce some low-end torque.

LoudMouth II is all about the bark. It will drone at about 2000rpm on the highway under throttle. That's what the stereo's for though...lol

Yeah Magnaflow will be a little more quiet....
I have PowerFlo on mine, and it is a VERY deep sound, but may be more quiet than you like. It sounds darn good in my opinion though!!

If you want to avoid the raspy sound I would go with the Magna parts...

If you need any help PM me, I am happy to help.

Go here and listen to the video clip.
I love mine, got all the reduced back pressure without the ridiculous noise, no drone and plenty of grunt. Reasonable pop on decel and a nice inboard/outboard boat babble on idle. Buy at Amazon.com for $497.00, easy install.

the Magnaflow axle back will NOT line up well with your ARH x-pipe

i have the same setup as you with magnaflow comp series axle back, and i had to take it to a shop because they had to cut some of the pipes so that it would all fit.

IMHO, you should get the kit that utilizes the stock pipes where the hangers are behind the differential.... which is everything except magnaflow.

have you looked at the ARH exhaust? for it, there is a video clip of it on the exhaust comparison sticky. it was built with the headers and cats in mind, and everyone that has it says ZERO drone. and no rasp.

Thanks for the tip. Just ordered the ARH axle-back directly from Nick. My dumbass should have done the full-system in the first place...oh well.

well that was easy

i am planning on buying the exhaust as well, soon.

i got my headers from them last october, and they didn't even announce the new exhaust until march or april IIRC. so hopefully i can convince the "boss" i need another exhaust soon!
