Performance Upgrades
I have a stock '02 v6 Camaro, and was wondering, where should I start with performance mods? I know I should probably replace my intake, and I would like to replace my exhaust as well, just want to get some opinions. I would like to start with cheaper mods first (less than around $500 or so per mod), and then work my way up from there.
Any suggestions?

I have a 2001 v6. If you want to spend a little money get the SLP lid and a K&N filter. It will make a big difference in sound. I was cheap and just shaved the stock lid and took my air silencer box off and put a 4" pipe in to replace it. I also had a shop put a new magnaflow muffler on for $400. It sounds great. Have fun moding!

Cold air intake, Catback, Headers, Anything else will cost much more. Car wont be really fast in less you add boost to it. Which is not worth it.

Also, ignoring the price range, what is the best cost/performance for bolt on mods? I've been reading a bit about superchargers, but the only one I was able to find a price on is >$5000. :o Thank you all guys, very helpful!

The 3.8 is worth boosting. Ask any GN, GNX or TTA owners. IIRC, there is a guy on LS1tech that turbo'd his 4th gen 3.8 Camaro. I can't remember his name, but he put down some impressive numbers on his 3.8 that he turbo'd. Might want to check out the thread or 2 I've linked. LS1tech's forced induction section has a few threads on 3.8 turbo cars, just do a search.
Also, turbo/blower, you're going to have to add in the cost of a fuel system and tune (and install if you dont do it yourself). http://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-ind...urbo-guys.html http://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-ind...aro-video.html

But I probably won't be getting turbo/supercharger/etc. any time soon lol. I found this site for SLP lid: http://www.slponline.com/browse_list_site.asp But it says for V8 camaros or those with an LS1 engine, will it still work in my car? I figured it wouldn't but would like to make sure. EDIT: Seems that's not a direct link, I clicked search by cars, 1998-2002 Fbody, induction.

2. Faster than most bolt on LS1. 3. It would be more then 3 grand for everything (turbo/hotparts/intercooler + piping/injectors/fuel pump/tuning). Also, whatever you think it will cost, add another 50% to it to be closer to the real number, especially if you have someone else performing the installation. Turbo cars are fun as fun gets, but the cost is very high and you really have to be able to maintain them, which again costs $$$. One reason I no longer have my turbo LS1 car.
