Just curious I have a 2SS coupe and mine has a auto dim mirror. I also have the RS pack

my friend just got the same car and his car doesnt have the auto dim mirror its a manual flip version. His car has a sunroof, mine does not.

Can anyone explain this?

Thats weird...2SS and 2LT are supposed to have auto-dim rearview and driver's mirror.

Is your friend SURE he has the same car?

I have the exact order as yours, with the sunroof, and I have the auto dimming review & driver's side view mirrors.

100% sure of this. Wonder if there was a shortage during build or dealer screwed him by giving it to another customer.

your friend got hosed.....they are standard on the 2ss and 2lt's.......Id go back to the dealer and demand that the mirror be added!

The funny thing is I would have preferred the flip mirror in my 2LT. Makes it easier to see the kids in the back. Still, he should have the auto-dim mirror!

Does the car have Leather seats? If not it's a 1LS, 1LT, or 1SS. The auto dimming feature only comes on 2LT and 2SS. Hence the Leather seats.

Is it possible to add the dimming mirror to a 1LT. I was just thinking about this the other day. My H3 had one and had a ton of clearance so almost nothing blinded me, whereas the Camaro is so low a dimming mirror should have been standard.

Adding an interior auto-dimming rearview mirror is easy. GM offers a retro install kit that has everything you need to install it. I believe you can get it either with or without OnStar.

I saw a couple on eBay with onstar. Is it as simple as removing the old one and installing the new one, or is there a special harness or adaptor needed?

My 2012 1SS has the auto dimming mirrors. It comes with the rear view camera package.
