I always tell those peeps I have 324 HP.....wanna race? 98% just laugh as they get the point. Most are surprised to hear the V6 has that much HP from the factory! About the shift questions...I still say yes...I can tap shift! If they ask whats that I tell them to line up and let me show you!

frankly, i am concerned after i get a new camaro and drive it to work. i work at a credit union, of which most staff are not paid well. i am in management. however, i can hear the "must be nice" attitude and comments, and "look who has money". and i could drive up in a plain jane LS, the fact its new, will get the comments

I have heard some of the back-handed comments about Auto's as well, even though I have a Manual. Mainly that, if it's a Muscle Car, it needs to be a Manual!

Do somethin fun every day

Some kid said, "It's just an RS"
But to make up for that tonight while getting some ice cream at this cool 50s style place a kid walked up to me and said "That's my dream car." And I immediately responded, "Yep, it is my dream car too." |

I purchased my camaro about 3 weeks ago and never encountered a negative comment. All positive so far. I remember I was driving in a residential neighborhood in LA and this ghetto black guy gave me the thumbs up while shaking his head. Then I sped off. Almost the best feeling lol.

HOLY SHIT!!! I come back to my car after work today and there's a half page note about how i'm killing the environment...
Then it had P.S- Responsible people drive cars like hybrids and do the best we can to keep the planet clean... it ALMOST made me feel guilty until I got in and fired up the engine, a few revs and the note was forgotten. |

I have been in conversations about the economy and being affordable stuff with my boss (who obviously makes more money than me) and a couple of other coworkers. we got to the subject of traveling for the company and how the money spent on a trip had to come out of our pockets and then we get reimbursed, I asked my boss why he dont just rent a car for one of his trips, and his comment was"Heck I live paycheck to paycheck! I can barely afford my own payments on my car let alone all my other bills........Besides that-I AINT THE ONE DRIVING A BRAND NEW CAMARO AROUND HERE!"
He acts like the Camaro is an expensive car, I told him from the begining that I bought the cheaper model, but I guess he figures it was still pricey. I told him it isn't any more expensive than his KIA Sorento.

So I was at National Trails Raceway last night working on launching (horrible!) and actually had a coworker come up to me out of the blue and hit me with one after the other....
"those things are just too heavy, i'm not impressed with the performance" "I would have got a mustang or a challenger before buying that tank" and so on....but he races a 3rd gen....would have expected just a hair of brand loyalty or courtesy but I guess that's out of the question. Of course I had no witty response since I'm fresh off my 13.5 runs.... |

I do respect everyone's right to get the car and specs they want, but I will admit I was disappointed how difficult it was to find a manual camaro. The first dealer didn't have a single manual on property. He told me must of the vetts they sell are automatic as well.
As for comments, I don't get many but could care less what someone thinks - good or bad. Screw em. |
