Nick and Larry, next time we do this I'll help you get through the course to get completed runs. It was not an easy course for a novice. You needed to have an instructor ride with you to identify where you went off course.

Tires were still cold on run #2 and I came into one of the turns WAY too fast..
Ran that cone over dead center on the front spoiler...

We spent a good amount of time protecting the leading edges with tape...what do the cones do if we hit them? I envision just a bit of a scuff that can be buffed out? Is that the case, or do they leave a lasting mark?

I wonder if that was the cone the white #188 car bitched about? He actually stoped and yelled to the spotters at corner 2 "what the hell is that cone doing there?" too funny.

I feel bad for Charlie because the dude was just yelling at him from in his car "THAT CONE'S NOT SUPPOSE TO BE THERE!!!" and he's just like because we had only been working the course for maybe 1/2hour (it's easy to lose track of time). After the dude drives on (and ruins the run for the guy behind him), Charlie was like "I don't know, it's been there the whole time."

Yea the cone was in a box that had an x in it. But like I said I never touched the cone and it was there from the beginning. So I pic up the cone and asked were to put it ( expecting the worse) and he said he didn't frigging care just not there. Trust me I didn't let it reck the day but dam to yell the way he did was def Not wright. I had an excellent time and I beat the hell out of the track for the ass chew I got.

the cones are pretty beat up from being run over a LOT.

i probably hit it at 45 mph or so. It didn't leave any mark.

usually they leave a black mark (from the tire rubber that's on them).

I havn't seen any real damage to too many cars from them. Most of them are lucky they can still stand up after some of the beating they get.

Ya I started at corner 2 with the radio man and after about 6 runs to set the cone Charlie traded places with me. I guess he felt sorrry for the grey haired old man. But the young man at that sharp corner 3 got a hell of a work out. That cone was hit just about every other run.

Now I know what all of those suicide runs in gym class were for. Man, running back and forth with the roar of engines coming was a rush.
