Just ordered mine from Rudy at TireRack Indy. Shipping out today, hopefully at the dealer Wed or Thursday when my car comes off the hauler. They'll be on it before the ZL1 leaves the lot.

I'm selling the factory Supercar G2s asap, so forum folks feel free to make a good offer including shipping or pick up. They'll be shipping from Lexington, KY.

Thanks, Santa Rudy!

Im picking my ZL1 up in michigan next week, already bought a set of winter wheels and tires for it, debating whether its worth it to bring them and have the dealer install them before i make the drive home (10+ hours) I dont want the aggrivation of getting the dealer to ship the stock wheels home but there is snow possible in the forecast...

I would not drive this car if the weather was below 40 degrees with precipitation for anything - maybe one but not both.

thanks to OP

I want to thank the original poster for the info on the possible cracking of the tires. I was only looking at the forum to see if anyone else had noticed a loss of traction under around 40 degrees (F). Now I have to worry about cracking too, but at least I know what to look for.

Who'd have thought I'd need to get winter tires in Atlanta? But I guess I will investigate geting some.

Has anyone else noticed a lot of slippage below 40 degrees? I'm peeling out and fishtailing all of a sudden. I can't out-accelerate Camries for fear of losing it!

I'm not compaining, though. I smoked some supercharged Elises at the track in Sep because their tires couldn't handle the heat. So the tires are awesome in their "natural environment."

Good call thanking the OP. I've seen pics of several wrecked Zs on this forum and wonder if this topic was related.

Perfectly normal for the factory tires.

Under 60 degrees F and the Goodyears become surprising and not in a good way. A6 downshift from 3rd to 2nd with all the nannies active and it blows them loose with about 3 feet of cross up and the death stare from the passenger. I'm going to run some Michelins or Nittos in the cooler months here in CA.

+1 below 50 degrees here in NC, with 705 rwp I have zero traction!!!! If I drive it 20 miles or so it gets a little better. Goosed it in 3 rd and it went sideways. Had to change underwear!

I'm not far from you, I noticed some slippage when we started hitting below 60, just take it a little easier and you shouldn't need to switch them out. Also check your air pressure often as it gets cooler, I just added 3 lbs to each tire in mine tonight before I came home, best time to do it is when the tire is cold anyways. Additionally you should be fine regardless after about 30 minutes driving on them. Yeah it takes some of the fun out of it but it doesn't get cold enough here to warrant winter tires for us.

Yes, I need to check the pressure. With the temperature variations, it's hard to keep up.

Unfortunately (?) I only live a couple miles from work, so my tires never have a chance to heat up. Oh, well, at least I can walk if I get stuck!
