Air Intake question

My father and I are going to be replacing the intake manifold and carburetor on our 78 camaro here soon. My father found a cast iron Z/28 high rise intake that we are going to use, and we are going to get a Holley 670 street avenger.

My question is, what intake systems are available that are slim in height? Since we will be losing some clearance room between the carb and the hood with this new intake.

thanks for any and all help

not a bad idea. unfortunately the one we have is already flush strait across. so it wont help by flipping it.

i was thinking of just getting a slimmer filter, but i dont want to reduce air flow. thus the reason i am trying to find a good air intake system.

There's plenty of drop-base filters out there. Talk to Holley about it. I thought the z/28 intakes were aluminum.
