Whipple hood requirements (2014 SS)

So I tried to wrap this in with my other thread, but that seems to have been a bad idea.

On the whipple kits, about every vendor states the 2014 and 15 models will need to modify or replace the hood insert. I've seen two options for these inserts discussed, a carbon fiber one that looks similar to the stock insert with no drip pan or grill and an ACS one that has a decidedly different look to it.

So two main questions...

Has anyone modified the stock insert to make it work? If so what did that entail?

And are there any other options out there you folks have found that I'm not seeing yet?

Aside from those, do you whipple folks have any pics to share? And has anyone tried painting that carbon-fiber insert? I would rather have a flat black than carbon fiber...
