Agee, they start looking like mustang stripes when they are thin and go down the bumpers.
I would like to see how the back would look ending like the old ones.

Not mine...

Now thats the look!
Exactly right.. front and back!!

I definitely agree with the few that think the stripes are too narrow. Widen then on either side by about 2-3 inches and they're be great. I'm hoping to have the stock (duck tail) spoiler extended by a few inches and I'd like the stripes to stop about 80% down the back of it. with the small pinstripe instead of just an abrupt end where the spoiler meets the trunk lid.

The deck lid looks a little different on the coupe also and we thought it needed narrowed. We spent 2 days playing with the layout, i think my body man was ready to start hiding from me at one point. He was crosseyed by lunch time. This is car # 1 and we still are looking at it. Also the exhausts are 4" tips.

Feel free to send the car down to Orlando Tom I will show her off at some shows

Anyone looked at the "ss" emblem in the front grill? Looks like this car has the "rs" package can this happen? I mean, Can you have the rs package and the "ss" emblem instead of "rs"?

No, that's right. It's an SS/RS. Those get the red SS badge, not the RS badge

As for the stripes, both the front and the rear set just look too narrow. The Camaro is a WIDE car and the stripes kind of need to be proportional to the car's size.

Agreed.

In fact, Im probly going to go over the top as well. But that may look strange with the roof molding. We shall see.

IMHO i dont like it stopping after the mailslot either do it all the way or keep the front the way it is before the mail slot. The back i like alot but honestly i dont get teh rear black out with those pictures it looks like someone got red but wanted a black/CGM so its just comprimising idk just my opinion. I do agree that the stripes dont seem wide enough tho.

Just my .02

The front stripes are too narrow. Look at the car as a complete piece and not just individual components. Don't mean to criticize...............my .02

Any idea how much to paint the stripes? I have talked to one local paint guy and he thought $800 to $900. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a fantastic price...there was some guy on here who spent $2500. just make sure you are there when they are masking it off so you can make sure it is exactly how you want it. I know i will be at the shop for every step of the process...

Didn't read thru the entire thread -- but going back to the 1st gen - stripes were painted -- and gloss - -rear panel on BIG BLOCK ENGINE'd cars only -- was painted satin black -- thus, the reason for the Tom Henry paint scheme -- a tribute to Camaros of past........
