I called the 1-866 # and got put on hold for about 3 minutes like everybody else and they said there is no TPW for my order at this time but my order is in the system. And then they told me it take 6-8 weeks from the TPW for the car to be produced. My reaction was WTF!!! I really hope this is not true. Because if I don't have my car by that June deadline for closing those plants GM is talking about, I'm gonna say f*ck it and get my deposit back from the dealer. I should punch my dealer in his face for lying to me when I first gave him that deposit. He told me it takes 6-8 weeks after your order is placed and now I just found out that was bogus. So I'm on my way to my dealer as we speak because he and I need to talk. Woooooooosah!!! Why oh why did I call that number. Man I'm glad my Anger Management Counselor isn't reading this. LOL...

I've yet to get any updated information from the 1-800 number. I tried again today and got the same useless speach they're obviously reading off a card.

I called that 1866 number and the lady said that my vehilcle would be built sometime this month. I got the same response from my dealer so they seem pretty pretty in sync.

Thanks for the 866 number. I called...and after being on hold for 5-10 minutes...the guy came back on and told me my car had been produced. He gave me my VIN as well (mine is #8024 off the line). I checked the number and the code is exactly what I ordered. He did say it was being quality inspected and to call back next week for a ship date. I would guess the quality inspection has something to do with the cable recall as I ordered the 2SS/RS manual. The guy was very helpful and told me he was excited about the Camaros too. This is after calling last week and being told they had no TPW yet.

My dealer has been very very helpful.
They called DBC yesterday and they were told it is on the line now.
They checked the event history again today and still says 3400.
They are just as excited to see one as I am. They have not gotten there dealer car yet as of today also.
They have been told by their area manager the color of their car but can see nothing about it on globle connect.

I do not want to call the 866 number if it will be a bad reflection on them as a dealer as this is by no means what is happening.

So does anyone know for sure if the dealer is contacted if you call the 866 number?

Not true. All US dealers can check all US orders in GC. If they view event history the info will be correct. The first screen they see after searching the order number is rarely correct. This explains why an order apparently says 3000 but is delivered. Its a dealer's lack of ability to use the tools they've been provided.

They are not permitted to give you anything further. If anyone has provided event codes or anything more than "it's built/it's not built" or "it's shipped/it's not shipped", they are risking disciplinary action. The Chevy Customer Assistance people place you on hold and check with another department. That other department is not permitted to provide specific info no matter how much customer assistance insists on it

That's awesome..I called the number and all the guy told me was that my car was in line to be produced and has not been built yet.

When did you get to 3000?

I was at 3400 two weeks ago. I called the 1-866 # today they told me the car was built and is in transit. Does this mean it was shipped?

Not necessarily. "In Transit" is the tab in GlobalConnect after "In System". It means it's built.

If you have not seen my Mac Haik thread in the price gouging dealers section this might not mean as much to you. Mac Haik got a yellow 2SS/RS in on Monday. They called and told me about it so I could come over and see one in person. I went over on Tuesday to look at it. At that time, I spoke with the gentleman that orders all the cars and to whom I have been speaking with for the past couple of months. I asked him where my car was in the event sequence and he said he was still waiting to get a build date.

They called me this morning (one day later) and told me my car was on the lot........ When I saw the same man today and asked him what was up, he just threw his arms in the air. So, go figure. By the way, for those that do not know, they would not honor my written agreement for MSRP and said I had to pay an $8000 premium.

TPW updating has been removed for GC for Camaro orders and agents are told not to give out info. If that dealer was smart, he'd have called DBC for tracking. Unless the car that arrived was a bailment that he didn't know he was getting (an LT model for GM)

Ok, I saw this thread and called the 866#, too. They told me I am still at 3400 where I've been forever it seems like!!! I ordered 10/16/08! I went to the unveiling at my local dealership today. So, I talked to the people who graciously brought their car in for the dealer to use for the unveiling since they didn't have one. Guess what? They ordered it a month after mine........WTF??? I am just sick over this........I want that car soooooo bad.
