x-pipe with muffler delete

I'm thinking of adding the X-pipe with my muffler deletes until I can afford to do the entire exhaust system. Can anyone tell me if this will increase or decrease the performance with an all stock L99? There has probable been several threads about this but I could not find any. Any advice would be appreciated.

You would see a small gain but not much. Drone could be pretty rough.

i started out with muffler deletes (Magnaflow Comp Series Axle-back), then added ARH headers and X-Pipe. love the sound, drone goes away when the radio volume is 15+.

but IMHO adding an x-pipe with an all stock L99 with muffler deletes sounds bad when AFM kicks in. i disabled AFM with a tune, but your not going to like it without it disabled.

my suggestion, save your $$$ and buy a cat-back like Corsa or Borla ATAK; or save a little longer and get a quality header-back kit like ARH, Kooks, Texas Speed, or LG Motorsports. hacking together a bunch of different parts isn't the right thing to do on a brand new $30k+ sports car. it will look like crap underneath and sound like crap when AFM kicks in.

That’s exactly what I was wondering, thanks guys. I’m thinking save and leaning toward the Borla ATAK cat-back and adding the ARH headers w/ high flow cats asap.

Dude, I have the exact same car as you and went with the Magnaflow axle back, no x pipe (yet) and have an LMR intake and Livernois tune and it sounds geat and runs even better, no regrets, no drone, and not to loud but sounds strong.

I do not understand this drone thing. I have a muffler delete and I do not notice anything. If drone is that humming sound on the freeway, then I like it lol. I think I am going to be adding some high flow cats, I need some more sound!

When people speak of "drone" they dont say that it differs for everybody. I have long tube headers, highflow cats, and muffler delete and I LOVE it. But I think you and me are pretty much going the same direction with our cars.
