Water Wetter

Has anyone tried Water Wetter in their Z? and did it work? Did it cause that weird oil gunk to form like some people in other cars have had? Just curious to the results. Also if I get some I'd be adding to a 50/50 mix. Thanks in advance.

water wetter says on the bottle what to expect. 8° difference with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze. 18° difference with water + water wetter. It may have helped me 5 ish degrees at the road course with a 50/50 ish mix.

Would it do the same in the supercharger intercooler?

I use a D3 reservoir and have water wetter in that for my intercooler. Very pleased with the results.

Any problems with freezing during the winter? I am garage kept, but sometimes it gets a little cold.

It will freeze if you use straight water with it. Basically it works better with the more water content vs. antifreeze. So if you can get away with a 80/20, 70/30, 60/40 etc...mix then it will do better for you. Just look up the coldest day for your area of living and mix your water/antifreeze accordingly to make sure your system wont freeze. Then add the water wetter...I will add that anti-freeze also helps to keep engine parts from corroding and electrolysis from happening. At minimum you should flush it all out and do again each year to keep that from happening.

Good info. The more antifreeze, the less effective at cooling and heat transfer. I use water wetter type additives in all vehicles and SC coolant. If you live where it does not get below zero, a 70/30 water antifreeze mix with water wetter is ideal as you still have the protection against corrosion and lubricating properties for the water pump, etc. but far superior cooling ability. The absolute best as the other posters show is 100% water and water wetter.

Great info!

Has anyone done before after logging to show the difference in IAT2 temps and recovery?
