My son is in his senior year of HS as well, he is a responsible driver and understands consequences. He has also already joined the Marines under the delayed entry and is due to ship off to boot camp a little under a month after graduating. He isn't taking my car either, even though he's asked a few times to take his girlfriend to the senior prom.

It isn't that I don't trust him or his driving, rather all the douchebags that will be there as well.

At that age girls are usually more mature than boys, I say yes as long as the boyfriend doesn't drive it and there is no alcohol involved.

My boyfriend and I have a homecoming at school which is almost like a prom and we have been asking him to negotiate with us to get to use the car. My dad told me to post a thread about this "just for fun" but I think that if enough people think it would be okay to take the car for just this one night he might just change his mind and agree to it. So, people if you read this please say that you think it is a good idea!
Thank you for all your help!
NOPE - ask him to rent one for you.

Bad things can come about with the best intentions.

Look at it this way, knowing the car is 'special' to him, why would you want to run the risk of something happening and having to explain / apoligize and have that memory of that incident associated with your homecoming.

If your homecoming is anything like mine was, then nobody is even going to know you drove to it, let alone what you drove.

That's a negative ghostrider, the pattern is full...
Seriously though, when I was a senior in HS (graduated in '01), I drove my parents 87 Volvo 240 GL. The car was in great condition to be that old, 4-cyl. And as responsible as I thought I was at the time, the car had an overdrive button that I loved to use and loved to show off (in the Volvo!). When it came time for my prom, my parents let me use the Expedition and needless to say, I put that Triton V8 to the test as often as I could (no accidents, no tickets). So again, sorry but no. Get a limo, arrive in style and safe..!
