I couldn't stand to be in the same car with someone playing Hanson.

Some of my favorites:
Copperhead Road-Steve Earle
It's a long way to the top-ACDC
Just about anything by ZZ Top...their whole sound seems to be designed for driving.

The car hobby and rock music kind of grew up together and I guess from what I'm reading in this and other similar threads that there's still a strong association between the two. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I think that hip hop speaks more to a different segment of the car hobby than hotrodding and racing. Separately, I know that getting one's driver's license is a much lower priority with teens today than it was back in the early to mid 1960's when it was one of the two or three biggest goals/achievements in a teenager's life.

It would be easier for me to just list artists/groups than individual songs, and even that list would be longer than I care to type too much of.

Off the top of my head, several songs from any of the following make good driving songs. Different songs fit different paces of driving.

Chuck Berry
Elvis
Johnny Cash
The Beatles
Aerosmith
Blondie
Cheap Trick
Alice Cooper
Scorpions
Dave Clark Five
Charlie Daniels
Def Leppard
Monkees
Great White
Creedence Clearwater Revival / John Fogerty
Green Day
Led Zeppelin
Metallica
Moody Blues
Tom Petty
Rolling Stones
Steppenwolf
Simon & Garfunkel
Bob Seger
George Thorogood
Neil Diamond

Fixed.

Now I'll have to put one of their CDs in drive time rotation.

Dang, it took 4 pages before someone mentioned "Interstate Love Song" by the Stone Temple Pilots? It rivals "Radar Love" as the top all time driving tune.
