https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...16662-9999.pdf This is an older copy of the current TSB. There is a check valve in the fuel line causing the noise. The line runs from the fuel tank to the high pressure fuel pump feed that needs to be replaced. The fuel line, 84404473, is currently back ordered. The pic of the fuel feed line in the TSB isn’t correct for the ZL1

Still waiting on my part to come in (84404473) - This strike really screwed things up.

Strike is irrelevant to the GM excuse machine. I waited 4 months on a REBUILT trans in July of last year. They legitimately tried to claim they had no new ones to replace it with.

84404473 is the fuel line from the tank to the fuel feed line. If your dealer just looked at the TSB without looking at the car, they may have ordered the wrong parts. It happened to another poster in this thread.

Sounds too slow to be the engine.

Sounds like a vibration rattle or misalignment against something. Have you tried running and listening for it with and without the car in neutral to isolate it to the transmission?

It’s not a fast tapping noise. You can easily hear it in the fuel feed line with an engine stethoscope per the TSB.

Recently picked up my 23 ZL1 with a 6/23 build date, add me to the ticked off club. Per my dealer, part 84404473 is on backorder with no ETA. The strike doesn't look like it is ending anytime soon, and I will be putting the car away for winter storage in a couple of weeks ugh!

Yep. Albeit a bit late to the thread. As someone who's had a 2013 427 vett engine, I know what 'ticking paranoia' really can be. This ain't that.

I just don't use the 't' word unless I'm sure that it's the engine internals (rockers, lifters, etc.).

This is the culprit. The anti drain back valve in the factory feed. Crazy how small and restricted it is.

The TSB calls it tick, rattle, or buzz.
