Amp/Sub question on 2012 Convertible

So I've been searching the threads both here in the Vert section and the radio section and everything seems to be older posts? So I was wondering what Amp/Sub combination people are using more recently? I am just wanting to upgrad the Amp and sub but keep the stock look and all my trunk space. Have tried to call ******** but no answer? I have the MyLink NAV radio with BA and am very happy with it, just wanting to improve the sound a little bit. Also, not wanting to spend a mint here either! Just a decent amp/sub combination?

I do not have a vert, but the JL 400/xd I believe is popular. Not sure of figment issues with the vert trunk however.

I am planning on using the ******** harness and attaching a powered bazooka sub in the trunk. I've had friends with these in the past and they always sounded good and can easily be removed for space. I like that the bazooka is just one tube with amp built in.

I also plan on using the ******** harness, but I am thing of just replacing my stock Amp with a 5 channel Amp and then replacing my stock sub behind the rear seat with an aftermarket sub. I have pretty much narrowed the amp down to either the JL XD700/5 or the Alpine MRX-V70? Just no one knows a model number of the sub that will fit in the Vert stock location?

Yeah, I have decided to go with the XD700/5 for certain. Now just need to decide on which sub I need? Has to need less than 7" clearance from what I understand?

So you're happy with it? And it fit in the stock location behind the rear seat without any problems? Did you add any sound deadener behind it or anything?

Perfect fit (with the adapter). I lined the whole enclosure with Fat mat and also used Pillow fill on either side to reduce the size of the space. I haven't upgraded my stock amp yet,(non Ba) and I wired the sub for 1 ohm operation and it's a great improvement. It should sound even better with your BA amp!
