Well I'm no 007 but I have a good 'feel' in my gut about this one. I rarely ever even read the Z-28 stuff, much less comment. I was waiting for something substantial. My aspiring spy gut tells me this is for real.

How did you get so good? Do you watch a lot of James Bond movies?

Bu..Bu..Butt then camaro will cut into CTS-V sales (I can hear it now)

CTS-V= 4 door luxury sport sedan
Corvette= light weight 2 seat sports car
Camaro Z/28= 2+2 sports coupe.

Completely different types of consumers. My only concern is that given what we know about the 2011 GT-500 (its main competitor) I don't think the LSA will be enough to hold that mustang at bay. Sooner or later Ford is going to put a blower on top of it coyote V8, the LSA is not going to be enough IMO.

I can see this costing around $8k more than a comparable SS. It wont cost the same as a CTS-V because those have things that this won't. You will probably be able to get one with cloth interior, no RS, etc. This is definitely a test of the Z28. It only makes sense. It doesn't have a convertible top so it's not that and it's not a face lift because GM isn't in a position to make stupid little unnecessary changes on a 10 month old car. As for competing with the Corvette it's a non issue. By the time the Z28 hits a dealership the new vettes will be out. They are supposed to boost power at all levels and finally have a world class interior. Therefore any advantages outside of 2 extra seats and ones choice in the styles will disappear.

And who knows the Z28 could be priced around the same base price as the Vette. If that's the case, who would pay that much for ~100HP less I mean at that point the power/weight ratio would have to be pretty similar.
The 4-door luxury sport sedan CTS-V and a 2+2 Sports coupe appeal to completely different consumers. I just disaggree with the reasoning that the Z/28 should be an inferior product to the GT-500 because of the existance of the CTS-V whos consumers will not cross shop it at all with a Z/28.

The reason the grille is different is because it's not a Camaro. That's also why they have both the nose and tail running camo. It's a limited production Trans-Am.... They figure if the Camaro enthusiests are buying this many cars in a bad economy, why not tap the step child. Sure Pontiac is gone, but they could just sell it as a Trans-Am under the GMC brand. Look at a picture of a '76 Trans-Am and compare it to the firefarter movie car and then you will know it is true.

Just figured I throw another conspiracy in the mix. I haven't seen this much chatter since the unveil of the original concept.
