chip on the trunk lid under spoiler

any canadian camaro owners have this problem? If you had it covered by warranty, what was the work done? Did they repaint the entire lid or blown in? Was something installed inbetween the spoiler and the trunk lid to prevent this chipping from re ocurring? I read some other threads but they were from american dealerships.

Any help would be great.

this pic is from another thread, just so you can get a visual

holy freaking crap i thought mine was the only one that did this

here's what mine looked like

took it back to my dealer 2 days after i noticed it, within a week i was taking it back to get the work done. they repainted the entire trunk and spoiler and paid for my rental for 4 days. competition chevrolet in stony plain alberta is my dealer and they did a great job fixing it. and because they did the work i now have a life time warranty on the paint on the spoiler and the trunk so if it ever happens again they repaint and pay for a rental again

if you need/want more info send me a message

Mine was like this when I took my spoiler off to put on the new one. Didnt notice it until then. Problem is the new spoiler doesnt cover it.

Yes, I had the same thing. I got mine repaired but it was at a local body shop. My dealer doesn't have a paint shop. They took the spoiler off and painted that one section only. Make sure you tell them to be extra careful with the nuts holding the spoiler. If they drop them inside the truck lid, good luck taking them out and they rattle like hell when you are driving. Is this happening only to the black Camaros?

Perhaps WE should all start checking our spoilers, but don't start a panic about it. If anyone can't see anything, but wants to look under the spoiler it's very easy to take off. It's only 4 screws that hold the spoiler on, and they come off easly with a rachet.

I find it ridiculous that we are all spending 30 40 even 50K for these cars and this kind of crap happens. Thank you all for your responses, I have already put in a email to my dealer in London, ontario...funny....they haven't gotten back to me yet. I will not leave this alone!

I know it's frustrating, but don't get too worked up over it, it's repairable. By the way it doesn't matter how much anyone pays for a car, there's always possibilities of defect in material.

Look at the long leading manufacturer, in quality, Toyota/Lexus ( sorry had to wash my mouth out), even their not immune from problems.

Keep us posted on the customer service and the repairs, of course.

don't email

show up with the car, take the service manager out, show him the damage and then ask how quickly you'll be booked into the body shop

i work for a dealership (not the one i bought my car from) and i can tell you right off that emails often get left by the way side however a real person standing in front of you can't be ignored

good luck on getting it fixed and i shot you back a pm
