and says. "Oh man that's a sharp car. I see you got the RS with only a v6 in it." The best part is he had some type of car wax in his hand he wanted to demo. I was like WTF. I told him yup its a 6 with 300+ hp in it. He was under the impression the v-6 was like some lowly mustang low output engine in it. Anyhow..... I didn't buy the wax. lol

Any of you guys have idiots ragging the V-6?

I mean yes its not an 8 but when I drive this thing with just me in it the car it surely scoots! Not to mention the fact I can add headers-CAI-exhaust and a tune can will pick up 50-60 plus more hp.

I haven't really had this problem, except when this one ricer asked if I wanted to get "destroyed by his car, since I only have a V6."

50 to 60 HP... hmmmm... nobody's done it yet... thinking might be a bit on the high side...

Yep, V6's get ragged on... you could have 390 HP and would still happen.. perhaps to a much less extent... but as long as there is a bigger motor option some people will always look down at you for not buying the biggest power plant..

I got a 304hp decal from "sticker witch" and put it on the rear of the Camaro,It seems to have stopped tailgaters on the interstate from annoying me....

That's actually really weird. I've never had someone say "It's 'only' a V6" to me.

It's a beautiful car, V6 or V8. Great engines either way.

Same thing happened to me today. I told him it would not be a good idea to spray that sh__ on my car. He said, it's free, I just want your opinion. I said, you are not getting it.

He then asked me if I got my 2SS, GFX, 21" for under 30, and if it had a V8.

I reminded myself, I am a lifeguard in the shallow end of the gene pool.

So many people have had the "why the hell did you get a v6?!" reaction when I told them what I ordered. Then I go down the list.....304 hp, 273 ft/lbs tq, capable of 30 mpg, 6 speed paddleshift auto, etc and they quickly shut up.

if you had the V8 he would have said you should have gotten a supercharger. If you had a supercharged V8 he would have said why didn't you just get the vette. If you had a vette he would have said why not get the porsche, etc. Guys like that will always be wise guys, don't worry about pleasing them because you never will.
