I seriously think we'll get an LS3 in our base V8 Camaro (430HP) As for the first special edition top of the line Camaro, we might see the LS7 used 1 last time.

LS7 will be out of production before the first Camaro rolls off the line. It ain't gonna happen. I too believe we will get the LS3, and then some supercharged version of the same block.

Just a hunch..

The car has already been photographed with the LLT 3.6L DI V6 from the new CTS.

I just wonder how we can tell the bore and stroke from a shot of the outside. We think its a 3.6L, we assume it is because it looks like one. But we can't be 100% sure. And even if it is the 3.6L DI engine, nothing says that engine will be in the Camaro. Just something to consider

I think that it is the 3.6 DI, that makes the most sense. But ya never know . . .

Yeah baby! I can do that. I'm afraid if I get a V8 I won't be able to stay out of trouble

Without actually sticking my head under the hood of one of these beta Camaros, I can't say for sure. But I have a very strong hunch. Here's why.

Here's a cutout of one of the engine bay photos that I borrowed from Jalopnik. Notice the hump at the back of the engine cover.

I downloaded the super-high res photos available on GM's media website (open to the public, so don't think I'm doing anything 'wrong' )

The one thing I can't seem to find a picture of at the moment is WHY the LLT cover has a hump. I've seen an LLT with the beauty cover removed, and the cast intake manifold that sits underneath this beauty cover has a big bulge on the back of it. Unfortunately GM doesn't have those nice disassembled photos of the LLT like they do for the LSA and LS9.

So either this is an LY7 with an LLT engine cover, which is admittedly very possible, or this is a genuine LLT. I'm betting on LLT for power and fuel economy reasons, as well as the presence of the engine cover.

This will have to work for now. One of David Kimble's gorgeous cutaway drawings, also downloaded from GM. You can see the humped intake manifold under the cover.

Nice investigation brother!!! The closest thing we have to a good guess right? Keep that stuff coming even if it turns out to be wrong, it is still good stuff to talk about and it has some sense behind it.
