Just bought a 2021 2SS/1LE/M6 with a build date of 7/8/2021. I was pleasantly surprised to find this tag under the hood.

Thank you Mr. Gary Oakman Jr!

Picked up a '21 LT1 M6 yesterday with a build date of 7/21/21 and it has the fancy tag.

Interesting. All LT1 and LT4 engines are assembled in Tonawanda, New York for both 2016-present Camaro SS/ZL1 and 2014-2019 Corvette Stingray/Z06. The final assembly for all Camaros is East Lansing, Michigan and the Corvette assembly line is in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

So the question is, were these engines supposed to go into Corvettes but somehow made it into Camaros? Possible shipping/logistical error or error in applying that stamp on engines headed to East Lansing and not Bowling Green?

You could always call GM’s employee directory to find out where Ms. Carothers works lol
I highly doubt it - but what would I know I only have 6 posts. I guess post count is what makes one knowledgable and intelligent when it comes to cars -

Knowledgeable or not - questioning the information provided by the most helpful person on the forum who has been proven correct time and time again for years doesn't make for a good first impression....

I know they are not supposed to have plaques on the automatics. Had mine for 5 days now, new 2021 2SS 1LE, and forgot to look.

Off topic but funny story,

Out of school I did inspection for an electronic company (who shall remain unknown) and we had to hand write our inspection sticker. We used to put all kinds of crazy stuff on them

Mr. T
Chuck Norris
Big Bird
A piece of toast

You name it, it was fun and funny. Wouldn't it be great to get a engine plaque from A Piece of Toast or Mr. T
